What a great dog and what a loving family!

Quality dog lovers and what a great thing to do . . . . Great story - thanks for sharing . . .

( Didn't realize that the pollen was still in the air at this time of year . . . dang it ! ! ! )

yeah, I got a little choked up. My brother had a dog he got as a puppy and she was always eager to see me when I visited, she would run up to the door for scritches when I came in. At about 14, she became very ill and was battling cancer, cataracts, and dysplasia in her hips. Still, I'd walk in and she would try to greet me. I finally told him that it was time, and it was so difficult for all of us, especially him.

Pets are family.. I dont' care what anyone says... I had a parrot, and he was like my kid. 19 years with him, first I rescued him from an abusive owner, he ended up rescuing me from myself. when he passed, I cried like a baby. Thanks for sharing the story...

I added a comment to the article. Our chocolate Lab Cocoa had a similar last day, and it was an emotional roller coaster for us.
Dogs are awesome.

I saw that this morning.. allergies got me too a little! Hits close to home! Had to do that too many times as have many here!

That absolutely brings tears to my eyes.
So similar as we just had to put my best bud down 3 weeks ago. He was a 12 year old dachshund, diagnosed with bladder and stomach cancer in January. He traveled everywhere we did, and was constantly by my side. His last day was a steak dinner, favorite chew toys, and all the snacks he could take. We had the vet come to our home as he absolutely hated going there, and he passed in my arms. I'm a pretty tough old guy, but my heart was broken. I cried like a 5 yr old girl as I laid him to rest on our property. I've had many dogs, but Roscoe stole my heart.

RIP Wilson

good boy & gods speed

a familiar story...

damn pollen

Awesome story. I agree with the above statement, they become a family member and are more compassionate than most human friends. Now I gotta get the pollen out of my eyes.
