Trying to find a can of paint that will be close to matching the original on my 69 Super Bee. Herbs lists 2033 Argent Silver Grill Paint, wondering if anybody has used it? I know Totally Auto sells some also, but is about $10. more and this stuff from Herbs is high enough once shipping is applied.

Watch for the can to spit out paint drops. It's a spray-can...not a gun. I've painted a lot, and it was kind of a bitch to keep the argent from not having an occasional "spit" thru a those nozzles.

The above is true for anybody's rattle cans. When spraying a textured paint you need to keep the nozzle clean. They get clogged easily. I turn the can upside down and spray for a few seconds to clear it out after each use. That applies for any spray paint.
I really like Herbs interior paint, but have never used their grill paint. I have used the textured argents from Totally Auto with good results and match.

Same here using the interior paint getting a better color match than what I had found from other suppliers. Great tip on turning the can upside down and giving a shot of paint to keep nozzle clear...I had no spits doing this.

if you still have some paint left in the can, remember to due this when your done, so when next time you go to use it the nozzle will be clean and ready for use.

Yeah, I figured out the tip cleaning trick a few years ago also. Some brands seem to be a lot more prone to spitting than others too.
I honestly don't know if this silver is supposed to be textured or not. @dadsbee found some Duplicolor that was a close match, but I doubt that had any texture in it. I can't find the stuff he used around me to find out.

I started with an untouched OE grill and matched to it the best I could. This is the best shot I can find, holding a test piece up to it that is way to bright... there was no texture on the grill I used. And as to what I used... take the C off the start of the product number and you may have better luck. The C is for Canadian..
