Hydraulic Clutch

Hope this is the answer. Everything is new. Clutch, TB, Trans. Has lighter feel not about resistance. Comes out, doesn’t engage, then engages high. No feel Plus feels like not perfectly lined. Not cheap!

Have not purchased yet. Checking on install and exact application. A little less from a Summit than direct and free shipping.

Got it. Finding the sweet linear feel of a manual clutch takes the hands and skill of a surgeon.
I just can’t figure out how to launch the car with the current collection of parts. I hope this is the answer. Sales tax now too for out of state purchases.

I have been looking at that kit for a while. You can get it cheaper at American Powertrain, then have summit price match and get the free shipping on top of it. You may get a racer discount too if you call them and ask for it. I think I have found it for 450-550ish through a couple different sites.

Id like to see how this installs at the clutch and slave cylinder. Very Interesting

Ask and you shall receive. The worst of it was drilling the pedal for the heim joint. I wouldn't recommend trying to do it in the car. A drill press would help. The other thing is reinforcing the firewall. I just used panel adhesive and rivets to add a piece of 16 gauge sheet metal on the inside of the firewall. Should hold up alright. If you are gonna really wail on it often further reinforcement may be in order.

Thanks everyone. My pal put one in his ‘Cuda. I will take pics of his configuration. Advice here is the best available. Anywhere.

Had that one in my Dart. You’ll love it! Easy to install, bleed, hook up! Clutch feel is incredible, get it!!

Dennis,
I've had this unit in my car for over 3 years in combination with a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. Works flawlessly. BTW, Steve, there is no slave cylinder. It's a hydraulic throw out bearing. Very clean set-up and no worries about header clearance, etc.

I have a hyd MC and slave cylinder in my Cuda (slave cylinder pulls the clutch fork) and I have to say my clutch is pretty stout. I am not sure if it is the PP or something to do with the hyd system itself. Its workable but feels almost like mechanical linkage, something I need to address at some point. I am looking at a hyd TB for the RR I am building.

Shop has found that the chafing or grinding when pushing in the clutch while stationary will not be fixed by a Hydraulic clutch. It is high near the top of whatever pivots. Grommet, who knows. Pedals are out. If a problem is identified, the hydraulic can go back to Summit for a $700 refund.

50 years, and a couple hundred thousand miles just wore it out.

Even if it's the pedals you still should look into the hyd clutch. The Dart has a hyd clutch going into the Tremec. I like the action, very linear. SilverSport Tranny also has a kit.

Update: In keeping with the RULES. Twice as long, twice as much $$$.
Waiting for “East Coast” parts. What’s with the availability of lots of parts being 3000 miles away.

Delivery by November! WTF. Valaya Racing said part hard to get quickly. True. He sourced one and has it. Shop was actually working on car at time of my unannounced visit.

I need to replace my throwout bearing anyway. I didn't set up the free pedal properly, partly because of the sloppiness of my mechanical clutch linkage.
I am super excited about getting a hydraulic clutch setup, and incorporating the HitMaster launch control system.
I think that is going to be one of those "milestone" events as to how it affects my perception and enjoyment of driving and racing my car.

Make another one on a lathe or weld the bitch up and turn it down.

Shop says pedal just won’t return the last inch without toeing it up. Looking for spring.
