Picked up a very clean New Mexico 66 Charger, no excuses survivor with 40,000 miles. The hidden headlights were working fine and now the driver side is not. Any troubleshooting advice?

Your problem could be electrical or mechanical. Behind the front grille you can reach in and disconnect the 3 pin connector on the motors. On the motor side of the connector, one pin is ground ( connected to motors outer case) one pin is fwd direction winding, the other is reverse direction winding. Each headlight bucket has a open and close position limit switch activated by a large flat head screw (part of the bucket and usually un-movable due to corrosion ) The 3relays that control these motors and interaction with limit switches is behind glove box. I would not recommend forcing the buckets manually as you can damage the gear mechanism in the motor.

The first thing I will do is to check motors...
You have a connector on the side of the battery, disconnect the connector and localize the Violet and red with white stripe wire.
The Violet wire is for opening headlights .
The red with white stripe is for closing headlights.
Connect one side jumper on male Violet connector and touch the other side to the positive on the battery.
Both motors must open, don't leave the connector on after opening...
Do the same with the red with white stripe wire.
Then you will know if you have motors problems.

Topher is absolutely the guy to go to for these headlights
He rebuilt both of mine and provided me with a modern relay set up to replace the old relays in my Charger
He also rebuilds wiper motors
I can testify that he does a top notch job
