Over spray.

Yes the body shop gave me back the 71 with over spray.They had 3 tries to get what i did not like.Never again will i use CAMPBELLS AUTO BODY,BELLEVILLE ONTARIO.If you have had this problim,over spray could you steer me in the right direction what works.cheers.

Is it a base coat, clear coat paint job?

Is it a single stage paint job?

Clear coat could be buffed out to remove the over spray. If it's a real heavy over spray, wet sanding might have to be done first.

Single stage, if it has metallic in it, could be troublesome but not impossible to buff out useing compound and a machine. It all depends on if it was a blending that created the over spray or if the over spray just settled on other areas when painting.

Light over spray can be removed with as little effort as just useing a cleaner wax. It could be as involved as wet sanding and buffing. Too severe will require sanding and repainting.

Agree what kid said. I did mine with Mothers clay bars.

Base coat clear, the first time they buffed felt smooth,the second time same thing.

clay bars i could try that,the car looks great,shinny,just rude your hand over it and feels like sand paper

100% Clay bar... Personally I've always used the original bar, Auto Magic.... 99% of the time the blue bar & it's lubricant is all you need.. If the overspray is really really bad Auto Magic makes a red bar, it you don't need to use the red bar it's best you don't cause it will leave a dull surface similar to sanding the car with 2000 grit paper... After the red bar the car will need to be buffed.... But it will remove paint overspray so heavy that it's visible from five feet away...

The blue bar doesn't dull the paint but it'll do an incredible job of removing all sorts of surface contaminates.... The lubricant is basically spray wax... I use Meguires Final Inspection...

You are in Canada I see...go to Canadian tire...get the Meaguirs clay bar. Use their fast wax product as a lubricant. Comes with the bar in the package. Clay bar the areas. Clear coat i am assuming...Then use the Meaguirs polish compound. Just by hand. Dont let the polish dry. Very very small sections. Like no bigger than 2’ x 2’ at most to keep the polish wet. When the polish begins to wipe off easy and the surface is smooth like glass it should be gone. It took up to 5 applications of polish in each area. I had the exact issue on a 68 charger I bought. Then wax. Paint is now gleaming.
