Long metal piece at top of pics

It came with my 1968 Satellite convertible.

The ends are wrapped in paper and taped.

It appears to be in the black coating new parts come in.

I have no idea what it is or where it goes.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm 90% sure it's the rear seat separator panel.

not sure what to call it, but it attaches to and matches the side interior panels

Does the boot cover also attach there? I'll look on my 70 Satellite convertible.

I believe it does. It has a place where it looks like snaps were screwed in

Unfortunately ours is severely bent and cut up. I hate hacks.

Does this not also cover all the Top motor and hoses also. Been awhile since I looked at the 68 I have.
