How do I determine value of my '68 Charger?

You search the item I find it best to do on my laptop rather than my phone it seems eBay isn't necessarily phone friendly once the item comes up with items for sale you click on the sort and the filter there's two different ones sort and filter one of them includes expired listings and sold listings and it'll show you what expired over the course of the past so much time and what has sold over the course of the past so much time sometimes you'll find some that have sold will still be available for sale meaning that sale didn't go through but it can be a wealth of knowledge if you're willing to keep clicking
Thank you, for taking the time to explain that in detail. Yeah, you’re right. That’s my problem, all internet access I have is on my phone. EBay’s format is not friendly to phone users. Hell, they don’t allow you to list a vehicle for sale from a phone. But, they’ll let me buy one from a phone, lol ! EBay has a lot of double standards. All the rules protect them and no one else.

Actually I just went in and found it on my phone I searched 1964 Impala cuz that's the last car I purchased not on eBay though and it had all the listings and then I went to filter and you can scroll down whether you want auction or all the other buying formats and as you keep scrolling all of a sudden you can click on sold and you can also see I think it said completed items which are auctions and such with no sale but you can see the high bid you can often times even view the expired listings , so search 68 Charger it'll say how many items are for sale hit filter, scroll down to sold or completed listings I'm telling you I spent hours on there doing research VIN numbers the whole 9, I've looked at more Vin tags and cowl tags than I care to admit

Yeah you’re right. I found it for the first time moments before you replied back. Awesome, thank you for pointing it out.

This is interesting take it another step further I don't mean to drone on but this is interesting Richard Cranium one of our members on fbbo here posted recently a link to a story about the 50 States and how friendly they are to the collector car Hobby I think you'll find that Pennsylvania is not near the top and that does matter in the marketplace to sell your car it would be best for you to try and sell the car on the National Market where you go with a oldride.com or this website for sure, or ebay for that matter, just saying, I'm from mn , been living in vegas for 9 years, old car prices are high here I buy cars from other states the last car I bought was in mn

You can put values together all day long. Regardless of what is being sold. None of it means anything. It all boils down to what someone is willing to pay and how bad someone wants a particular car. Some people over pay, I know I did and it didn’t bother me. I paid what it was worth to me. Didn’t care about much of anything else. People take this stuff too serious sometimes. It’s all a game. If you’re flipping a car, yeah you have to value it’s resale. But, in all honesty. People looking to buy these cars for themselves really don’t care a whole lot about what something is honestly valued at. There’s too many variables and circumstances. It boils down to one thing only. What one specific individual person is willing to pay. Changes from one guy to the next.

The whole process is matching ( finding) the right buyer for the right car. Wife is a R/E agent out here in the sticks of Tx Same with R/E, matching the buyer to the property. There are some similarities. Like overprice that r/e and you run off a lot of potential buyers, that never seem to notice after 1 month or 6 months the seller dropped the price because it was not selling at that price.

Old car deal, everyone thinks they have to haggle. I hate the haggle sometime, so I price my car what it is worth to ME< so if no one wants it, fine, I am happy to keep it!! I still say, price it a little over what you have to have or price it higher in case some idiots pays that jacked up price!!??????

On thing about car guys, that hate to tell on public forms what they got for their car. The only way to appraise anything is with comparable sales. Anything, otherwise you are just guessing! IMHO
Anything you get over price of scape metal, is salesmanship!

I'll come pickup this week for you to take it off your hands . It's only worth 1500 bucks and that's Canadian . Lol
It's a beautiful car but I am partial to 68's .
Guessing 25-30 k or more if assembled and running well .

did we get pics?

I have an estimate to get the body repaired by a local shop http://stripmastersinc.com/
Considering what I have invested and the estimate, I am looking a approximately $25000.00 investment (minus my man-hours).
If I hold on to the car, it should only appreciate, correct?

My crystal ball mentioned to me that, since the rise of the "musclecar" market of the 80's, the market has risen and fell several times. Also sometimes Mopars are hot and other times NOT.
Used to be a second gen. Charger was worth bout what a 68-70 Runner,Bee, GTX/RT would bring. Today the Charger RT brings a premium. Maybe next year not, who knows???????

I see a big red flag. Why does it have Wisconsin plates on it?
We bought it in Wisconsin over 20 years ago. Drove it to Florida, did work on it in Alabama, drove back to Wisconsin.
Sat in a shed in Wisconsin with occasional start ups by my step-father. He died and I shipped the car home to Florida and have started the rebuild.
The car now has Florida plates on it.

My rule of thmb is never put time /money into these cars unless I would love to keep it forever. Hard to restore a car and sell it and get your $ back, even IF you can do al the work. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe everyone else is smarter than me!!!!!
