1970 Charger, Bumper/Drip moldings not in terrible shape, but after fresh paint they might stand out more.
Trying to figure out if I should attempt to rechrome my bumper, try and polish it or just buy a new one from Classics Ind. Anyone have any advise or bought the new reproduction ones. Quality issues? Seem's not that expensive at $280. Same question for drip rails. Thanks in advance.

I would definately polish the drip rails and rechrome the bumpers. The originals fit much better and are nicer pieces. The drip rails should polish up pretty quickly being stainless.

I'd do the same with bumpers. You can't beat OE parts vs the repop stuff. Spend the coin on a good rechrome and then your OE bumpers will fit much better than the repop stuff. Sorry I meant to say rechrome bumpers in the original post. The drip rails are polished not chrome so my cursor moved and never finished my thought ha!

I forgot to include, but I can guess by answers the same goes for door handles? Rechrome those?, or Just buy new ones, again only $115 new.

For the bumper, I'd rechrome. I've got a repop piece on my front and a rear chromed original on the rear of my car and the difference is very noticeable. The steel of the original is thicker and the chrome job is way better than what you get on the repops. For the drip rails buff and polish them out, I did mine myself. It was pretty easy to learn how to do, there are a lot of tips/tricks on here an YouTube.

Now for the door handles I'd say get repops. Why? well they are potmetal and very expensive to correctly rechrome pot metal. I had mine rechromed and spent way more than repop and to be honest when I go to shows I can't really tell a difference on those with repops or mine.

Re-chrome bumpers for $280???? Something's fishy about that price and I'd be suspect about the quality........IMO

Nothing takes away from a fresh paint job more than not so great chrome and trim. Spend the coin on re-chroming the bumpers and vent windows and polish the drip rail and both front and back window trim. You will be glad you did. :2cents:

Yes have your original bumpers re-chromed
Drip rail trim can be polished to as new. Any dings or deep scratches will need to be bodyworked prior to polishing. There are several good YouTubes on how to polish stainless trim. Your front and rear window trim are also stainless
As for doorhandles I’ve used re-pops with no issues.
It’s all in the details good luck
