Installing the oil cooler. Then need to figure out if the transmission has neutral on not. Also, I think it’s only hitting 5 of the 6 selections on the trans. The new linkage bracket may be hitting housing, so I may need to make a little clearance. Probably have to pull the pan again to put the endoscope up by the selector, is it called the “comb”?

Installed, little victorys. :) now on to pull the trans pan, again. :(

Had to run to my brothers to have him weld the nut to this bracket. It kept turning when I tightened it, so the rounded part wasn’t facing the trans housing. This was making it so it wouldn’t shift fully into park. I still may need to clearance the housing a bit too.

Finally drove the car in the neighborhood last Friday for the first time. Trying to get these old bumpers cleaned up now. Not the cars originals, but decent for now. Front is cleaned, getting ready to do the rear, needed a short break.

Cleaning out the trunk, looking for the seat belt stuff. Ran across the shock boxes of the shocks that came with the car. And the old receipt. Some of you south east MI guys probably know this old shop. Maybe it’s still there?

From July 26th.
My brother picked up my car Tuesday night. :) Wednesday he adjusted the new kick down cable then had to make a new bracket for the throttle cable. Once the kick down was setup the throttle only opened 1/4 way. He made a couple other minor adjustments and fixes then took it to the alignment shop. No word Until Thursday afternoon. Texted me looking for specs for the used QA1 UCA & LCA that I installed, making sure they were right for the car.
They called him early in the afternoon, they told him the car was ready, so he picked it up and started driving it. Didn’t get far, one side of the suspension broke. :wtf:
Friday, he texted me a bit ago, the alignment shop was using the wrong specs and bent the lower tubes. My brother is going to get chrome moly tubing and build new ones out of it. Hopefully :praying:nothing else was messed up underneath. I don’t know how far it dropped and haven’t seen it. Really bummed about taking up so much of my brothers time with this.
Gonna owe him big time.

My brother still has the car. He built new strut rods to replace the ones the alignment shop bent up, re-welded the mounting point for the left side that got trashed when it broke driving away from the alignment shop. :wtf: He's got the kickdown and carb all setup and adjusted now. Replacing the rusty headers too. They found they were both rusting through around the collectors, luckily he had given me some better headers a couple years back. Hook up the rest of the exhaust he gave me from another car. Unfortunately a header stud was previously broken off in the passenger side and he needs to fix that too. They noticed a vibration the other day while test driving it and found the passenger side engine mount was just a steel block, so new engine mounts are coming. Several other little issues he's noticed mostly from previous owners. Hopefully get it early next week. :praying:
Can't wait to finally get to really drive my car, been waiting a long time. :D

Talked to my brother last night. Ended up removing the head to drill out the broken exhaust stud. They found one push rod longer than the rest and a cam lob that is flattening out. :( He’s going to looks at it further today. I’m guessing I’ll be putting the car back in the garage for the winter.
