So, I took my first swing at Mopars with a C-Body, a 68 Newport Custom, and as much as I enjoyed the car, I hated playing "Where's Waldo" when it came down to finding parts for it, since virtually nothing was made- especially sheet metal.
Last night someone bought the car, and I've put a bit of cash away while I hunt for something a bit smaller, with restoration parts readily available.
I haven't found The One yet, but I'm not in a hurry. I've got 2 1967 Chargers to look at locally this weekend, both have some rust. One had decent factory options like AC (now gone) but will need a little more work (new taillight lens, bodywork) and only has a 318 with console shift auto.
The other was low optioned, column shift, with a 383 4bbl- I'm leaning heavily towards this one, despite some scale under the car, the floors and trunk seem solid. For me, the pro of the 383 outweighs the downside of a column shift auto.
Anyhow, I'll be poking through the classifieds here to see if there's anything in my ballpark as well as FABO!
