Cancer screening

Thoughts and prayers are with you and yours at this difficult time my friend. Stay strong and never give up. Best wishes to you and your significant other. God is with you. My stepfather had prostate cancer about a year ago. Now it is removed and he is doing much better, and back to himself. I had cancer as well as a young whippersnapper, I know blastoma, but not sure what type. I also had a kidney and liver transplant when I was younger too. I'm very thankful and blessed to still be here

Just an FYI related to screening:
I work for a company related to cancer screening and detection. PLEASE be careful of a cancer screening scam currently going on in the US. Do not give any information for any type of cancer screening test offered over the phone even if they say it is a Medicare test. Only take one from your Dr directly. Thousands of people are being offered tests over the phone saying it is part of a Medicare screening when in reality they are just trying to take your Medicare number and personal information for this scam. I know this is a little off topic of what is being discussed but please be careful with this as it is becoming very prevalent and my company has people calling us every day. Generally targeting elderly population who may not know better but I’m sure it will spread.

I appreciate the thoughts from all about my wife. My intention was just to say get checked out.
I didn't post this although I did converse with a few guys here on the PM.
Its been just about 9 years. You dont get use to it but rather it comes part of your life, I dont know what else to say.
The kids with cancer and ive seen some, I cant take it, not kids or even younger people.
Anyway so in the beginning of April the bride had surgery, number six, it was to deal with some of the results of her condition, she had no appetite and was loosing weight and they saw two tumors but they were small but they cant see as much from scans because of scar tissue. So since they were in the neighborhood so to speak, they would look around and take those two tumors out. They also removed her gall blander as she had stones and if she had a problem they would have to do surgery, so again they were there, take them out
She was in for a week because the abdomen was cut when they removed a tumor attached to it.
She came home but it was apparent something was wrong
She could hardly eat and was getting weaker. Nothing I made her appealed to her, I tried everything
After a week or so we had a appointment with the surgeon and the night before I was helping her shower, she was very thin and I knew then we had a problem. I packed her bag and took it with us just in case. I got her up to the building and I had to get her a wheelchair
When the doctor saw her he sent her right to the ER, she was admitted and turns out she had a abscess in her abdomen were they removed the tumor
Three days and came home with a drain that I had to flush twice a day, empty the drain bag and record how much came out.
She is better now and eating much better. She still has little stamina, we can do something and the next day she is very tired, but again she is way better then she was.
She looks good and if you. saw her you'd never know.
So that's the story and again thanks for the thoughts. We both appreciate it very much.

God reward the good man Steve, and you are one, your reward imho is to see your wife in better health, still my best for her and for you, keep strong my friend.

Many of you have stood by your spouses during some very trying times. I to have had my wife sick. I dont know what I would do without her. I tip my hat to all of you, as the old guys say, it's a tough row to hoe but stay the plow.

Ive been married since 1974 and the years fly. Sometimes young people seem amazed that a couple could be together that long and what i tell them is when the reverend says "in sickness and health in good times and bad, you better pay attention as he aint fooling around.
Were doing alright a lot of folks have it way worse. I after all these years have a play car to fool round with but what's most important and all that really matters is the six grand kids, my kids, my cousin and her little one. You take it day by day and grateful for everyday you have together

Steve,
thoughts and prayers to you guys. My wife and myself know the fight all to well.

I agree....get screened...I didn't read every post and prayers go to all dealing with this...my wife had part of her nose replaced because she didn't go soon enough.....was a bad thing to deal with but she is there every 6 months hell or hi water. She even has my best friend and his wife (all 3 red heads) going to her dr....they found something on his wife but soon enough as not to be that bad.

Hows your back feeling? Hope its better. As long as I keep active the body and joints are good, its those shut down periods
Kind of like a old diesel truck that lost some compression, hard to start but once its running all is good, LOL.

I went to the dermatologist a few years ago for a full body check. The medical assistant came in with a gown and told me to undress, just leave my underwear on. She was a smoking hot blonde. She leaves the room and I change. A few minutes later, she comes back with the dr, who is an even more smoking hot Asian woman. Now I'm thinking to myself, this is supposed to be a FULL body exam. What do I do when she gets to the privates and I have a positive reaction !!!! well, she did a full exam EXCEPT for the actual equipment. I wanted to say to her aren't you going to examine everything but didn't want to seem like some horn dog like most of us are. I didn't though and just had my regular doc check me on my yearly physical. he's an older guy, so no fear of REACTION there !!!!!
