Distracted driving?

Looks like it was doing about fifty mph sliding backwards into a tree!

The other driver definitely would have been suffering from a broken nose before the cops arrived.

I don't believe that's going to buff out. Sad day for the owner for sure.

Crazy ****. I have some fun (least I think so) when I get a call to run a driver training course with people who have driven for years. I say what in thee hell could I tell ya about how to drive 'safer'? Most everyone thinks their driving skills are better than everyone else's anyway. I say then why do some 40,000 people leave home every year and never return home cuz they ended up in a morgue from a vehicle accident? I leave little talk about safe driving techniques as that's a waste of everyone's time and an irritation to those convinced they have superior driving skills. I get into the consequences of driving like an idiot as I have several case studies of the aftermath and how some never think they'll land in prison except ended up there after killing another driver or their passengers. The guy who decided to run a stale yellow t-boning another killing the driver he hit. He spent three years in prison and his wife and little kids visited him on weekends. He was very remorseful as the guy he killed had kids too. And he pondered his future as a convicted felon. Another case, a 22 year old college gal who was busy texting when she hit a guy in a crosswalk...ending his life. That guy had little kids too and she was totally devastated by what she had done. The judge sentenced her to a two year prison term when she coulda got 10 years...the dead guy's family though, after all, was sitting in the courtroom expecting 'some' justice. Break a traffic law killing someone can life forever. Thank my lucky stars I never killed somebody back in da day when I was hot rodding around!

I think had that been my car it would have been unfortunate that the driver who hit me died of extreme blunt force trauma !!

... and they'd be wondering what they were doing with their phone up their *** !!!

That’s too bad. The 62 looks like it was really nice.

A moment of silence observed for that 62.

That is just so heartbreaking to see. You know they had a ton of $$$ and work in it...
That one's not coming back ever, is it? :(

It looks like it was incredibly nice.... There would be serious injuries... By the time I got through....... I hope they both had good insurance, not that insurance can fix it

I seriously doubt if anyone would attempt it. Parts car comes to mind. Just looking at the roof line tells it's toast.

I'm not seeing a gas tank? Maybe it broke out or there's a fuel cell in the trunk. ???

I got rear ended driving a '92 Dodge Dakota by an old mail jeep. I was sitting still waiting to turn across traffic with my wheels pointed straight. I had looked in the rear view as I always do in that situation and saw the jeep a hundred yards behind me. I still had cars coming and all of a sudden it was like the back of my truck blew up! I blacked out for a second and everything was blurry. Well the blurry vision was because the impact knocked my glasses right off of my face. I found them on the passenger side floor. After finding them and putting them on I realize I'm sitting in the parking lot that I was originally heading to. How I missed any oncoming traffic I'll never know. The second I had heard and felt what was like an explosion, I felt lower back pain then numbness.

I managed to step out of the truck and I looked up on the roadway where I was last sitting. There was the mail jeep, water and smoke pouring out of the front if it and an old guy rolling a tire past the front. I walked up to him and asked if he was ok. He wouldn't say anything and just continued on with this tire. Then I realized it was my spare that normally hangs under the bed. What a mess. Did the whole accident report with the cops. I later went to the Doctor and it was mostly muscle and nerve trama. Having the seat belt on when rear ended really seperates your lower extremities from your spine. The only thing I got out of it was Doctor's visits and the body work to get the truck back on the road.

I'm telling you the owner of that '62 is sore today! My truck's frame was diamonded from a 35 mph impact. His looks like a lot more than that.

Found this pic of where the car came to rest off Facebook:

A neighbor of the owner reports that the owner himself wasn't driving, but a friend of his was.
The owner had just been in front of this car in line to turn into the car show a few seconds before this occurred; otherwise, this car of his would have been thrown into the back of a '70 Charger RT/SE 440+6 (his other car he himself was driving).
It's also reported the "girl in the minivan" that hit the '62 was rubbernecking the car show cars and never touched the brakes at all before impact.
The gas tank was ripped from the '62 at impact and thrown across the grassy field.

Finally, it was also reported that everyone involved is very sore but otherwise ok.

Distracted driving...what a joke. Brainless driving. What a waste.

Even where I live, country roads, tail-gating is way too common. It's nothing, to see a line of 5-6 cars, gratefully going the other way, running so close together it looks like a frigging train! Why?? Brainless.

A friend sent me these pics near a local show. Apparently was a new buyer and completely totalled (my dream car). No idea what happened to the driver. Hope he is ok. Anyone know this car?

The wheels are polished in the wrecked car versus the one above. All else looks the same though.

man that sucks! sorry to see that sort of thing happen to anyone,,,here in california they pass out driver licenses to anyone :(..so defence driveing is always required,,,,,,but,,my car puts out so much gas fumes out the back from 2 750 carbs that no one tailgates me very long!motors far from stock,, its fun to watch them hit the brakes and back way off!1 guy did stay on my bumper once for 25 seconds....then dropped to a quarter mile back..

I talked with XMANJR on the phone, and that was his old car. He had no idea it happened. Just terrible.
