Hello,
New guy from Texas. I am the third owner of a 68 Charger that I am in the middle of getting back on the road. Numbers matching car with the original broadcast sheet. I have been working on it off and on (with help on certain things) for about two years.
Long story short: my uncle was the second owner (bought it in 1971) and was racing a guy when the engine started to overheat. He pulled into a gas station and told his girlfriend to keep the engine running while he put water into the radiator. Engine quit and would not turn over. Towed the car back to my grandfathers property and pulled the engine out and placed it in an engine stand. Nothing further was done and it stayed in my grandfathers barn for years until we started talking about it one day (a few years ago) where he told me I could have it as long as it stayed in the family. I got it onto a U-haul trailer and towed it to TX. A few weeks after getting it to TX, my uncle told me he never looked for the broadcast sheet and that it might be in the car. I found it in the springs of the rear seat back cushion in excellent condition.
