Mopar Nats, Columbus, OH. August 12th-14th

Sooo, noon-2pm(?) at Richard’s tent between R & S?

That'll work. But uh... pardon my ignorance... which vendor is Richard's tent?

I am about to be leaving out within the hour driving through the night to Columbus. Whatever you guys come up with as a time and date will be fine. There should be more than enough room under the tent.

For those new or not familiar with the swap meet area, as you enter the general swap meet from the general show field, our tent is on the right hand side of the access road. The Stephens tent with all of the AMD sheet metal will be the first tent and our tent is the second tent on that row. Between the Stephens display and our tent, we should be very easy to find. The tent is large, 120 feet by 40 feet and under the tent will be an A12 Road Runner, the barn find Superbird. Also, Bob Baker of ABC Moparts will be there with his dash pads and Frank Pirtz will be there with his die cast cars.

I will be tied down to the spaces, so all are more than welcome to stop by and enjoy a place to sit down and hang out for a while. The weather looks great and the response to the show has been very positive. Everyone have a safe trip and see you there!!!

Planning on wearing this on Sat.

If anyone is looking for a room for the weekend, I have one room at the Hampton Inn located at 2093 S. Hamilton Rd. Columbus. The room is two queen beds for Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the rate is $354.24 plus the taxes of $61.99. If interested, send me a private message. Thanks, Richard.

we will be heading out tomorrow at noon hope to see some of you there

I'm going tomorrow (Thurs) to buy my 3 swap spaces at 12 noon at the Refugee Rd entrance. Hopefully I will land in row N, O or P. I got row N last year being at the gate by 12 noon. My spot will look something similar to this pic. Those were my spots at Norwalk a few weeks ago.

Richard, I will do my best to see you late Thursday as that will only be my available time to break free from my spot. I was the guy who visited you at Carlisle on the Wednesday of that week. Long hair and SLAYER T shirt, can't miss me (VegasCharger from DC.com).

Mopar NATS can't wait!!!

Sounds like they got beat up by the weather this aft

Midway tents and vendors

Unfortunately several tents received severe damage today due to a storm which brought 60 MPH plus winds and heavy rain. In talking with the staff of the race track and the staff of the Nationals, nobody was hurt.

The HDK tent was completely took down along with the Legendary tent, a section of the Survivor tent and our tent. In my 37 plus years of doing this, I have never experience anything to this extent.

I have attached two pictures of the remains of our setup. The tent that we was under was a 40 by 120 feet and the bins can weigh 600 plus pounds and the wind did this damage. Just goes to prove what damage strong winds can do.

We will make the best of the weekend, so still come by and say hello. We may not be real well organized, but we will still be there taking care of our customers.

I also would like to thank the numerous men and women who came out and helped us pick up and try to salvage the merchandise. I also would like to thank the staff of the Nationals and the track for providing all of the assistance that they gave to us for help. The most important thing is that nobody was hurt and the damage to the cars and parts can all be replaced. Someone could have been seriously hurt in this situation.

Richard,

Sorry to see this. Thank goodness no one was hurt. Hopefully Mother Nature will behave for the rest of the weekend. Make the best of it, I know you will.

I am not at the show this year, but will stay in touch.

D

The announcer at the drag strip said they had 85 mph winds!! Must've been from the devil; everyone knows God's a Mopar fan.

And boy did it. Friday, Saturday and Sunday excellent weather!!! To make up for that disastrous Thursday storm.

Love me some Nationals!!!

National Weather Service said it was a F-0 tornado. My cars and I were under the HDK tent. I've never experienced weather like that. Thankfully, nobody got seriously hurt at our site. Cars are just cars, and can be fixed.

Went along for a ride with my buddy yesterday to the nats for the first time in 5-6 years & all it did was remind me why I haven't gone back, the show is ok for a one day event or if your there racing but it's not worth the 3 hour trip or the expense to stay more than a day.

Anybody see the fools trying to sell that rental truck full of waaay over priced hemi junk I wonder how much they took back home?
