Disaster at the Nat's

I forgot about Carl. I talked to Sandy from Finer Details. She said it was bad but they were good. I have calls into a couple guys with show cars but no answer yet.
He said he got thru fine at his spot but it was a bit hairy. He's got an original AAR cuda just freshly restored at his display so I can only imagine

Damn, that is a disaster alright. I'm very sorry this happened, but glad nobody was injured. Best of luck with cleaning up everything and the sales. May God be with you my friend.

Sorry to see that, glad you're alright.

Bummer. Makes the "Great flood of Carlisle" look like nothing. Dang shame for sure...Show have insurance of any kind? Against that kind of thing? For example if a tent flies away and hits a paying guest? Someone is responsible.....

Ya’ll recall that waiver you sign to enter these events. Says you won’t hold anyone responsible for loss or damage.

You screwed again.

That's what your own insurance is for.

Wow, that's terrible! As long as everyone was ok, it'll be alright in the long run but man a lot of these guys come from a long way off and then to loose inventory makes it hard to recover cost much less make a profit.

Good point, hopefully everyone had it. This may considered "an act of God" though and not covered.
Actually, as someone who owned and operated his own insurance agency under a major insurer, that's exactly what insurance is for. The only things that are guaranteed not to be covered are things like War.

The question will be for some of the vendors, particularly the swap meet guys is if they have a business insurance that includes inventory. I'd bet most of the swap meet area folks dont, but the larger vendors most definitely should. Now there are some policies and riders on some HO's policies that MAY cover this, depending on state and company. Really, its gonna be one big pain in the butt regardless.

Glad nobody was injured, it is amazing and humbling the destruction nature can throw at us in mere moments.

crazy ****

mother nature can be a real bitch at times

good to hear nobody was seriously hurt

sad about a couple of the cars got damage too

Just because someone says they are not going to liable, does not mean, in a court of law, they wont be...

Like the sign on the truck dropping rocks on the road saying "not responsible for broken windshields", does not make them not responsible for something there truck does. Like dropping rocks on the highway breaking .......Whatever...

It was pretty wild. In the pits it was shaking the motorhome around. Lot of folks had left and left their EZ-UP's out. Awnings ripped off. Blew down all the port-a-johns except one which floated upright down the pit lane for about 200 feet. Went out to survey the damage and do some cleanup afterwards. It wasn't easy to look at.

That storm popped up so fast it was unreal. One of the other campers said a few miles down the road a section of corn field was laid flat. We help some of the vendors clean up some twisted tents after and there was a mountain of pop up tents and tent frames at the scrap pile in the back. so thankful nobody was injured.
