I have been researching using a hotspot for internet service. Does anyone have any experience with them or suggestions? Thanks

yes make sure you are on the Unlimited Useage plan or else it isnt worth doing.
also make sure theres a Reliable cell tower somewhat nearby for that provider.

i looked into this for last 2 years because i live on a mountaintop and have dialup.
am interested in others experiences as well.

From what I can gather, people use an Ipad IMEI to sign up with AT&T on an unlimited Ipad data plan (no throttling but deprioritized after 22Gs) for about $40 a month. They then take the simm card out of the Ipad and put it in their hotspot. Download speed around 20 mgs and upload around 10mgs.

If you have an unlimited plan on a ipad just turn on the hot spot feature in settings and connect to it. No need to move the sim to another device. Also make sure the plan has a "Hot spot" provision.

Also if you already have a smart phone you can hot spot to that, just ensure the plan has the data for it.

We have a few verizon jetpacks at work.

They are surprisingly fast and have pretty good reception.

I've had 4 or 5 computers on one at the same time, installing software and windows updates, and was still able to use another computer to read my email and do remote admin.
