Just getting ready to check engine for pushrod length,I have a 493 rb stroker with 240 trickflow heads and 1621 comp pro mag steel roller tip rocker arms,,I have a question or questions,How far down do I want the cup adjuster sticking out of the rocker arm where it meets the pushrod,I read somewhere that the adjuster has an oil hole in it and it cant be set too far down toward the pushrod,I took one apart and do see the oil hole in the adjuster and there is an oil hole in the rocker as well,do these holes need to line up,if so then I cant bring the adjuster out any as the holes only line up with the adjuster all the way in on the pushrod side, hope I made my self clear, thanx in advance, its a hydraulic cam with around 563 lift

It wouldn't make any sense to design a adjustable rocker arm that can't be adjusted. Call Comp and ask about recommended range of adjustment.

Isn't there an undercut allowing oil to flow between the adjuster and the rocker body? 1 1/2-2 turns is the normal spec on most rockers.

Yes there is an undercut, never thought about that,I just checked and a couple turns out the undercut is still close to the oil hole, thanx for bringing this to my attention, duh, feeling stupid now lol thanx

Not sure what you are talking about, thats not what im asking, just didnt know how for down I can take them, thanx

I think I saw it on there web site. It’s like one or two threads showing or something like that. I did mine last year and I double checked it by pulling the distributor and priming engine with a drill. That verified flow. You can also spray carb cleaner in the hole and turn the adjuster both directions to see when flow stops. At the tip that is.

thanx, got them all adjusted and they look good, plenty of oil flowing, actually spraying out all over, great oil pressure on the pre oil
