Looks like the carb bowl vent. It more than likely went to some sort of charcoal canister.

I bought this beast and the guy had just installed the new carb but it seemed odd that that line went nowhere. I was looking at the old carb and that line looked tarnished as it possibly never had a hose on it. The picture I'm showing is off the internet but appeared to be the same 2 BBL carb (Holley 2210) that I have on my Minnie Winnie? I'm going to plug it, as I see no charcoal canister or pollution control components? Thanks for the advice.

Where ever it was supposed to go and your choice to not connect it there is neither here or there. Plugging a port that large is probably going to cause ill effects. Me thinks more research might be a good idea. JMHO.....

That is the enclosed bowl vent valve port. As mentioned, on a '73 it would have been connected to the charcoal canister. If it is not present, the port should be left open to the atmosphere to retain the bowl vent valve function.

Yep, I was just doing a bit more research and plugging is BAD! I will run this back into air cleaner assembly if no canister is present.

The idle fuel bowel vent valve is intended to have access to atmospheric pressure, pressure outside of the air cleaner. Pressures within the air cleaner housing can drop below 1 ATM under certain conditions, could lead to higher than normal fuel bowl levels. Better to not connect it to anything as earlier versions of the idle bowl vents were.
