I know this is a B body forum but I figured you Mopar mech heads know what the usual hard to find or easy to go through parts are.

Saw a 71 Valiant at my local salvage yard, I didn't have time to pop the hood so I don't know the engine/transmission specs. Off the top of your Mopar head, what are some non oversized easy to remove desirable parts I should look for to pull before it goes to the crusher?

Did a search on Ebay and so far I've got:
Lower fender support brace
Shifter linkage
Speedo gear assembly
Headlight buckets
Air cleaner assembly
Heater/AC controller
Horn cap

Hub caps, am/fm radio, head lights, and tail lights don't look to bring in much $ for the time, yard cost, and shipping.

Take a look at the rear differential, if it is a V8 car it may have an 8.75 in it which would be very desirable to the A body crowd.

Inner fender splash shields if not rusted thru. These close out the fender from the door hinges. Fit 67-72 valiant and 70-72 duster.

Small bolt pattern front disc brakes. Everything from the spindle out. Lower Control arms if it's a sway bar equipped car

These cars didn't have to be V8 equipped to have the 8 3/4" axle. I have seen them in slant six, 4 door cars. The towing package option included the HD 8.75 axle, a bigger radiator with shroud and overflow jug, 7 blade fan and fan clutch.
Funny that this car is getting so much attention. That can be because these cars have REALLY thinned out at the wrecking yards.
From the theme of your post, it seems like you want us to think that you are the nice guy (Before it goes to the crusher) but then you mention shipping....which reveals a different motive.
It looks to me like you are wondering what to pull so you can sell to people online.

And what's wrong with that? It keeps the parts in circulation before they are gone forever. Some guys live in rust belt states where this old stuff is a faded memory. Heck even 90s stuff up there is a faded memory. So what if he pulls parts and makes some bucks off them. Would it be any different if he was cutting up a parts car in his back yard?

A fellow fabo buddy of mine and I drilled apart a 71 scamp back half we bought from the local junkyard. He and I both needed some sheetmetal off it and sold the rest. I sold both super solid framerails to a guy in Minnesota. He woulda never got them if I had not decided to drill em off in one piece and sell. I made money, and he got a good deal on 2 complete framerails. It's called capitalism.

Don't give me the "It is Capitalism" stuff. I fully support the concept but to use it like "It is for the children" makes for a weak argument.
Local guys might want the stuff too. You must have not thought of that.

Grill, dash pad, black interior items, bucket seats/tracks, console/mounting brackets

Theres a bunch of A body stuff at my local boneyards. These guys out my way hold onto this stuff like forever. Plenty of A body relics I have seen there sitting 20 plus years and had not been crushed out. Most still have a lot of parts ripe for harvesting. Nobody out my way is buying this stuff. I pull what I need for my projects, plus parts I know I can sell to those that are looking for them. Mostly rust belt states. Again capitalism. Find your own junkyard "honey hole" if theres any left out by you, and go after it.

Where the heck is a Grand Teton ???
I saw this car today. Like most California cars, the interior is roached out and the body has no rust. No gauge cluster, wiring is hacked. It is a slanty/automatic with a 7 1/4" axle. Whatever brakes it had on the front are gone. I am not very familiar with the disc setups on these cars....The 73 and later used a different master cylinder for disc cars; The front brakes were fed by a larger reservoir. This car had what looked like same size pots fr/rr.
Grille has cracks, front bumper is bent. Side markers could be worth something to someone.

Ummm Grand Tetons are in Idaho just in case your not into geography. A quick Google search woulda told you that. An A body member i think he calls himself Hemi71X got the brakes off it. SBP disc setup. You may know him. He is the guy who buys the all the brake stuff, and upper and lower control arms he can find refurbishes it, and flips it. Sells some nice refurbished stuff on the site. But wait that's supposed to be wrong. LoL

Not into geography?
Three people on this site probably know that.

White capped mountain range in Idaho.

That is pretty. Looks COLD too!
I'm guessing the mountains keep some snow year round?

Yep pretty awesome. Yes the mountains stay white capped year round

Just an FYI Kern Dog in case you didnt know, Pick n Pulls dont keep cars very long either. 2 weeks tops. Then whatever isnt sold by then, oh well, too bad, it goes into the flattener. They are very high turn places. If you see what you want, you better get it then, since a week or 2 later that car will be gone and different vehicle will be in the same spot. In this case I am glad to hear of somebody who is willing to take the time to remove everything of value from it, even if it is to flip it.

So your typical 2 week window, what are the chances theres gonna be a whole bunch of people wanting parts off a valiant before it gets flattened? Odds are not very many people if any at all. I have pulled some good parts to flip when visiting my local yards only to have some of that stuff sit on the sale forum for up to 6-8 months before the right person comes along looking for and needing that item. In a high turn yard that item would have been melted down and probably turned into a toaster or some other damned thing by then.

I have been to the Pick n Pulls in Dallas Ft Worth multiple times. Because of the high population, they have such an endless stream of stuff constantly coming in that they cant keep stuff very long. If they did, they wouldent have any room to put it all. When old vintage stuff goes in one of those yards I'd rather hear of one guy completely stripping it out of good useable parts to keep them in circulation than the whole thing good parts and all going into the flattener after 2 weeks.

Thats the sucky part of it all however the prices are great. They have a huge list of every part of a car or truck broken down into individual pieces in alphabetical order each part with a price. Car hood let's say $50. They dont care if it's a Kia hood or a Mercedes hood. It's all the same to them $50.

Sometimes I wished I lived closer to the metroplex for some of that stuff because of the prices without having to drive 2 hours one way to get it. But then again my local yards have a lot of old stuff they dont crush out, and that is really hit and miss in the D/FW pick n pulls.

Wouldn't mind having the driver's front door off that car, if it's fairly straight and decent.

The high end cars usually had the 8 3/4....like KD said, ones with the tow package but not that many bought a compact with the tow package.

KD, I think everyone here knows it :D

Hemi71X, here.
Here's what that 71 Valiant looks like at the local Pick-N-Pull wrecking yard.
Ya, i got all the disc brake parts off of it the 2nd day they but it out in one of the Mopar rows.
Currently in the process of cleaning, then rebuilding, all the parts for future sale.
Rotors and kits are on order from Rock Auto, and should be in my hands at the end of the week.
Depending on the PNP yard, from the smaller ones, to the larger ones, cars tend to say out for 6 or more weeks before they get flattened.
Then they are on their way to become little Kia's.

FYI the 4 door front door window regulators are the same as a 2 door. Did it have swaybar equipped LCAs ? Hood looks really nice for a Duster or a Scamp. Would be a shame if that got flattened. How's bumpers, bumper supports, taillights, rear valance etc. All that is useable. I bet being in cali, the frame and floorboards are perfect. If I was out that way, I would pick that effin thing clean.
