Hi All,
Just wondering how people have run a return style fuel system on a 64 dodge?
Particularly between the tank and the front leaf spring mount?

As per the attached photo’s the previous owner used copper of all things and was obviously happy bending by hand, kinks and all.

Due to local laws the majority has to be run in hardline with minimal flexible hose at the connections. The Drivers side is already taken up with power cable from the battery in the boot so will be running both lines on the one side.

I will be installing some frame connectors and plan on running along the outside to keep away from the exhaust but cannot decide how to get passed this spring mount?

Has any one got examples of how they have run their lines?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you must go thru the frame then up to the tank. wrap fuel line with heat wrap. just my idea of what to do
 
Bearman, yes, that is what I have been thinking. Maybe weld some threaded pipe through at the top of the frame - hose from tank, through the frame, hardline from there and then
the same through the front crossmember.

Copper fuel line??

On my 64 Ply, I used 5/16" steel brake tubing. Simply built my lines in sections, adding up from the tank, to carbs. Ran it the same as stock. Running a return line, could probably be done the same, on the run, right along with the feed line.
But, don't see a need to go 'through' the frame.
From the tank/sending unit, line goes up to the floor pan, over to the pass. side frame, about halfway up on the wheel well. Folds around the bottom of the frame, to the outer edge, finally to the lower body fold/lip, where the fuel line clips are located.
Straight up to the front, from there. Have to do another 'fold' around the frame, just before the shock tower, in the engine compartment, then to the pump.
Anyway, that's how mine is. Only two short pieces of fuel injection hose used. One at the sending unit, one at the fuel pump. Need hose at the pump, to counter the engine twisting.
 
i have seen some other guys go with braided fuel line from tank to frame then have bulkhead connectors. then on the other side hardline it forward to firewall. then braided line up to regulators, carbs etc. really like the bulkhead connectors makes it look really pro built.

Sorry mate I didn't realise you'd asked for an update. Haven't done much with with the car for a month or so. I ended stripping all the glued down carpet and crud out of the interior floor with a wire wheel to fix some holes and cracks where the seats hadn't been mounted properly. Then the young fella smashed his car so have been stripping it down to sell off the parts.

Pulled the motor on the weekend and hopefully it will go to the builder in the next week or two for checking.
I'll be making a start on some frame connectors and welding up the millions of random holes in the floor. :wtf:

Still waiting on delivery of an aeromotive stealth tank I've ordered from the states. Once all that is sorted I'm ll be sorting out the fuel line run.
Basically I just need to get off my arse and get stuck into it.
