Hi. I need help!!! This may be a easy answer but for some reason I just can’t get it. I am building a super bird clone, started as a 1970 318 satellite and just put in a 1972 440 with electronic ignition. I have seen all the diagrams on wiring and if someone could tell me where to put the ecu wire going to the ballast and do I use the existing wire that ran to my positive coil. Thanks

Forgot to mention that I have stock wiring. I have one wire on the left side of the ballast and two on the right side.

What's the story on the door decals?

Not really sure. Car been sitting 35 years under a shed. The person I got it from is not here anymore

Cool cat! :D Hey, when you ask a tech question it's always best to put it in the right forum so that you'll get the answers that you need. The 'newbie' forum is for introductions and there are many that do not go into that forum since it's not a tech forum. Anyways, Welcome to the site!!

Yes, you’ll always have a positive running to the coil from the electric distributor just as an original one would. My suggestion is bypassing the ballaster, you’ll have a stronger ignition spark if you do. A ballaster was designed to prolong life of points by weakening the ignition spark. Simply tear the back out of the original ballaster. Run a jumper wire on the back of it and insulate the jumper wire so it doesn’t touch or ground to the firewall. It doesn’t matter which prong on the ballaster your wires are connected to as they simply run a direct connection from one wire to the other.
