Thinking of putting together a 440/.30 over (casting # 2536430-10) with !0.5 Compression. I have new in box a set of Stage V heads, 214 intake valve,(P5249112) to use. Wondering if anyone can foresee any clearance problems, such as valve to cylinder wall and if this is to much head for this build. Plan is to use a 509 cam. And top everything off with A & A's Max Wedge Cross Ram intake.

Not too much head for that combo. Not sure on the big valve tho. Normally you'd want to check every clearance anyway. My only concern would be that those are not Max Wedge port sizes on the head, so yu have a mismatch of the manifold. Of course, if you don't already have the manifold, you can get the right cross ram from A&A with 440 sized ports instead, and then all good.

Lefty, A & A's Max Wedge set up is designed for the 440. Thanks

I am running a combination very close to yours
440 .030 over using the speed pro L2355f .30
Compression is more like 9.9:1
I am using 906 heads with the 214 181 valves
I also have the 509 cam in my new build

So far the engine runs very good
I have used these heads with 484 cam and got exceptional results so I know they flow good
With the 509 cam if you get close to a zero deck you will need the pistons fly cut
if your pistons are cut for standard valves your clearances my be tight

Only if you buy the right one. They make and sell both. Max Wedge ports are bigger. You can run Max Wedge sized port heads on any big block, Lo or High deck, and find intakes to match. There are manufacturers making both heads and intakes utilizing both. I was just pointing out that you dont want a mismatch like you described. HTH, Lefty71

If you mean the Mopar Stage V iron heads, then it seems pretty straight forward build, I would not expect any valve to cylinder wall clearance issues.
If you mean the Stage V hemi conversion heads, then I think you need to get hold of Stage V Engineering and get their install instructions. Been a long time since I looked at those, but I recall something about changing over to 1/2" head studs?
