How much "value" is there in the originality of the truck? Let's say I am considering this (maybe I am a little)....Would it be sacrilegious to pull the motor/trans out of the truck and swap in a modern set up that would make it reliable and comfortable to drive around the country?....add a/c, cruise control, etc.

ksurfer2, Just what I was thinking. Gas 413 or 361 Truck engine gets what 5-6 MPG ? Not bad when gas was 30 cents a gallon.Put a diesel and a 6 speed with the 2 speed rear and you would double your mileage.I'm with you on having A/C.
It sure would be fun to own.No place to park it for me....
 
To me that would make it way cooler, something you could actually use and want to use not just a static display.

Yes,Yes,Yes street rod the truck. Engine, drive line, interior. Bring it up to standards. It already has tubeless wheels. Maybe alloys and radials. A/C, sound deadening, great tunes and go. Love the diesel and 6 over 2 idea. What a cruiser!! Dave
 
I'm with u guys swap out trucks driveline put in something you can actually drive around in . Ac .... Leave the look alone . I dont see a motor and trans swap affecting value negatively!
That's way cool if I had the funds ! !!!

That truck was made up in the last 10 years and sold for a charity. There was an altered wheel base care that went with it named "The Rebel" which has been renamed, "The Rebel From Hell". Very flashy car that needed to be rebuilt to be safe and run. The truck should be back with the car but not at that price.
