Hey folks,

In my 70 RR I currently have a 26" three core. With the new engine building 500 hp and the old radiator looking a little tired the time has come to replace it. The default would be an OEM replacement that is a 4 core. What about a Tri-flow, is it worth the price?

Anyone want to offer up suggestions ?

Someone should make pop-corn LOL

I have no experience with them, Cold Case is a vendor on this forum.

I have used 4 Griffin direct replacement style radiators, little satin black and unless you look for #'s you don't know the difference.

I guess I would prefer originals, just because of the look, but my experience with Griffin has been that they are really well-built units that work really, really well too.

The originals work well but are heavy. They actually are not all copper but a mix of brass and copper. New aluminum radiators are more efficient and weigh less at the same time. THe only drawback I see is that they don't look exactly like the stock versions.
I have a 26" unit from ECP. I got advice on this site about them. Approx $260 shipped to me. It has factory style mounts and provisions for the shroud.

I'd regret spending over a thousand dollars for a radiator when you can have similar performance for 25% of that.

Here is another aftermarket one that I used in a customers car that is performing great. Car had A/C and was a stock 383. His original radiator did OK until he used the A/C.

As stated in a previous post, when using aftermarket I prefer Griffin, but this guy didn't want to pay the price. Also a recore of your original is the best option if you are wanting to keep everything as original.

Got mine set to a 4 core $600. No "hot" HEMI anymore. And copper /brass dissipates heat better. Aluminum is just cheaper....

I have a $200 Afco aluminum triple flow that we tigged 4 aluminum "L" brackets to. For cooling it's a $135 Spal multispeed fan as a pusher as there is NO room for anything on the engine side.In the heat last week it stayed below 185*. At the track I go into the waterbox at 150/160* and cross the stripe at 180*. No shroud and hoodless.:blah::blah::blah:

Rick Ehrenberg would disagree with you on heat dissipation.

That is the exact radiator I bought. You can get them black or unfinished. It is spot on for the original and mounts up to original holes in support. I believe my shroud bolted right to it without modifying. I love mine, no issues.
