Lookie what $5000 buys you....

You're just like America with open borders , you can't save them all.

Think "Roadkill"...
Would that include the demon engine? :D

Well, TODAY was the day I brought this car home.
First up, a path had to be cleared. There were a few obstacles in the way....

First up, a NON running '70 Challenger. Last week we put the steering column in enough to steer. The front seats went in at the same time. YES, the Challenger is for sale. PM me for details.

Next car in the way is a '70 Charger, one of two that he had.

XH 37.jpg

It is a narrow shop and he has stuff on both sides. The FK5 Charger I bought can be seen through the window openings.

Here is another angle:
Lucky for us, all three of the cars rolled easily. The Charger that he is keeping is the only one with an engine and transmission in the car, adding weight .

It was Me, the seller and his neighbor moving the cars out.

He lives in a Cul-De-Sac so his plot is shaped like a pizza slice. Not terrible but not the easiest to navigate.
XH 47.jpg

It is OUT ! The car has sat in his yard since 1998.
XH 48.jpg

It sure looks like a turd, huh?
XH 49.jpg

Now pulling in at my place. The Wife is used to seeing me pull piece of **** cars in and later seeing nice, shiny classics leave.
She is great...She didn't even flinch on this one.

Tag shows it to be last registered in 1995. Bill Clinton was President the last time this car was on the road!

There was a body in the trunk?

It would have fallen through!

At home behind the shop:

As I went to unhook the dolly, I saw the LH strap was already off. Good thing there were safety chains!

The deal included a nice RH fender:

Drivers side fender needs a lot more work. Certainly better than having nothing though.

Sadly, no fender tag.

Solid floors. Say what you want about this state but the cars sure don't rot away out here.

The trunk floor looks rotted only in the middle section where the pan steps down. I think I might be able to just section in a segment between the frame rails. This could be done without much trouble since it would fit through the trunk opening.

Like all other '70 Chargers that I have seen, it has that evaporative emission vent tube thing behind the RH wheel tub.
XH 62.jpg

Besides the trunk center, the only other rust that I have found that will need attention is a small section at the lower RH corner of the rear window and each lower quarter panel outer opposite of where the plastic drain plugs are supposed to allow water to drain out.

MIght be hard to see, the patch may be pretty small.

Funny thing..The License plate frame is for a defunct Roseville Dodge dealer. My DAD actually worked at that dealership in the early 70s. I met the owner when I was a kid too....Mert Diener, they called him DOC because MD were his initials.
