Can anyone who has used Dynamat or other sound dampening material tell me approximately how many square feet are needed for the floor, roof, etc.

Don't know about square feet quantity....when I bought some it came 'by the box lot'
Get your wallet ready for a pounding....that stuff ain't cheap.

I have already purchased 2 packs, which contain 72 Sq Ft per box, so I have already suffered the sticker shock. Just wondering if I am going to have to sell a Kidney to finish both cars

I felt like more than my wallet got pounded when purchased :(

I used Noico from Amazon. Cheaper than Dynamat and it looks to be the same stuff.

I used this from Home Depot. Have to order it online.

Same insulation that I used on the roof. Made with recycled blue jeans. No itchy scratchy. Flame resistant. Fairly easy to work with.

as did i worked great and 1/2 the price if i remember right and 1 box was enough to do the floor inside the car from the trunk divider to the heater box area.

I used 'mega-mat' from Fatmat. 50sq-ft roll was around $125 and did all the way up the firewall to under the back seat. Had leftovers to cover the bottom of my package tray and some under the dash.
Note: I don't feel it necessary to cover every inch and have a perfectly gapless installation, with the exception of over the exhaust pipes and firewall so that helps it go a little farther.

Fatmat for me! Dont remember how much I used, but I do remember I purchased a rather large roll of it and had a bit left over after doing the Newport. Note: I did not to the roof.

Used about 50sqft on the floor ( length x width= area). I put down Kilgimat first. It was cheaper than anything else. Then came back and rolled out some insulation like Kid did except mine had a mastic backing. It was pretty cheap off of Amazon.

I haven't done the roof on either convertible either..... But my station wagon made up for it...

Did anyone use it on the inside of the doors and quarters under the rear side windows?

I have remnants of undercoat there and it seems like a self adhesive mat would be beneficial.

Also, I've never used Dynamat, but it reminds me of the stuff I've used for home window/door flashing, peal and stick kind.

Is it similar material, or flat out the same just more expensive?

I was thinking about using dynamat or something like it . One of my main concerns was if wasn't glue down good and had voids in it , it would rust from moisture getting to it and how could you tell and less you see a hole coming through the metal . Wondering if anybody has taken there dynamat off after bunch a years and seen what shape there floors or whatever they had cover ? I 'm thinking about using Lizard skin for heat and sound .
