RIP Jessie

36 y/o Jessie Combs
Hot young & talented blonde,
also a devout racer/truck/Car lady & TV personality
died 8-27-2019 (sorry no link, just heard it over the radio)
deemed to be, the fastest woman on 4 wheels

Apparently she died on a run/pass
to attempt to break the land speed record in Oregon somewhere

Very sad indeed.....What a loss to the car and racing community!

I have met a couple of "the women" that have been on some of the most popular car shows on TV.
My favorite is Courtney Hansen. ALL of them were nice, and not snooty, the opposite of that mustached asshole on "My Classic Cars" which always show him begging like a little girl to drive the featured car.
I digress, sorry.
God rest her soul. She WAS and IS one of US!

Yeah, she was down to earth and fun to interact and talk with! I will miss her greatly and will likely feel her gone at all the SEMA shows. Sad and she’s definitely beating all speed records now with the best!

RIP. She was a smart, talented lady. Loved seeing here on all the shows representing and enjoying the automotive culture. She died doing something she loved, what a way to go.

Rest In Peace Jessie Combs. You will be truly missed by all in the car community. How tragic it was that she died at that young of an age, but as @Riverdawg said she died doing something she loved. :(. I remember seeing her on the Overhaulin' show.

Saying that one died doing what they loved is a dopey cliche because I can pretty much guarantee that she had zero intentions of dying that day.

If anyone of us had a mechanical failure while out for a spin in our B-bodies and we smashed into a tree and got killed, would it be proper to say that we died doing what we loved? Of course not.

Of course she didn't intend to die! But she loved going fast, and she was trying to break a speed record that day. Unfortunately it killed her! Why would you do something so insane and put yourself on the edge if you didn't love to do it? It's sad all around though!

RIP Jessie . . . you will be missed . . .
