Got to talk to the original owner of this '70 Superbird. Owner looked to be in his mid-80's from Abingdon,VA. Has rebuilt/ replaced the motor several times, rebuilt the 4-speed transmission as well. He drives it every day! It's ready for a rebuild, but he says he's going to keep driving it.
That's his son's car beside the 'bird.

I seen that today didn't get to talk to the man who owns it tho. Did talk to the man and woman who bought my dad's old 67 Hemi GTX tho. Alot of nice cars this year at the show.

A very nice gentleman, too. He's sort of a local fixture on the old Lee Highway (US 11) corridor
between Bristol and Abingdon. Lives very simply and yes, he drives that thing all the time.
Doesn't think anything of it, either - just likes the car.

That's to cool

Wow, thanks for sharing. Wish I was there to listen to his stories.

I was there today too. I remember this car and the guy daily driving it when we first formed the local mopar club and got into showing the cars back in the mid 80's. I think the 'Bird only had 200K on it then.....

That would be great to see him tooling around on the backroads of Virginia in that bird. Love that he drives it all over the place. Good for him.

From the club's FB page pic postings. This is the 'Bird. Those moon caps and smoothie wheels were on it when I first saw the car around 1986 or so...
