finally getting the 72 charger se back together. Original wiring harness is intact but somewhat rough in places. I'm not sure if the harness will look presentable with the restoration quality of the car. Anyone bought a new 72 se wiring harness that was complete and not missing anything?

I've been buying my harnesses from Tony, at partshound.net. He makes them, and does excellent work. He's also very knowledgeable, if you have any electrical questions.

Yearone sells the best plug and play harnesses, made by M&H out of California.

They have a 30% off sale going on.

Use code - LD19

I also went M&H for my 68. Well made.

O my God,its a must,i never go with out a new harness, man what are you doing, put all that money into you baby.O man

Thanks for the replies! I will do some shopping!

There is not a harness that is "complete" simply because options vary with any car. You might have to re-use or get some wire to replace some. Again, depending on your car. Bottom line is you'll kick yourself in the *** not go new/repop on a harness.

I've heard of Evans wiring too. Anyone use them?

Some problems with exact OE reproductions include, as mentioned, you are not likely to find the correct harness configuration for your vehicle. I see some mods on that motor, likely the original harness configuration wouldn’t apply anyway. Also, exact reproductions include the original design weaknesses, undersized charging circuit wiring and routing through Packard 56 terminals in the bulkhead connector. Unless your original harness is completely toasted, rebuild it. Unwrap it, replace any damaged wires or connectors, clean-up or replace terminals as needed, upsize the alternator output wire, add or remove wiring as needed, then wrap it back up. Highly recommend by-passing the bulkhead charging circuit connection, run through a grommet straight to the ammeter.

I’ve used new M&H harnesses, expensive but decent quality. I cut them open, rework as needed, wrap them back up. Looks original but without the original design flaws.
