Hi I am the owner of a 73 roadrunner. The car is pretty decent has a 440 and body is relatively nice. I have been having a problem with the drivers side door however. I need to locate a latch assembly as well as a new exterior handle. I broke it off the other day the latch was taken out and one of the parts was snapped tack welded and I have not looked yet but imagine the weld snapped. I went to open the door the door did not open I gave it a tug and ended up snapping the left side of the outer handle and it dangles now.
Anyhow I am hoping someone knows where to find these parts I have been searching with no luck at all.
Thanks in advance

here is a pic of the car

Door handles are easy to find, available from the major parts places, but Jeff at 521 restorations is a good source and a member here. Here is the link.

Regarding the latch assembly, you will most likely have to source it used. I had to replace one on my car last year and found a used one, so check the classified section here and of course ebay.

welcome to FBBO nice looking road runner

Welcome from the show me state!!

Welcome.
Don't forget the door hinges. Worn/sagging hinges are most likely the root cause of your latch/handle issue.

Welcome aboard from NJ. Very nice 73 you have there, Best of luck with it. By the way. I'm a Packer fan!

Thanks for the information I may have a local lead but if that falls through I will definitely look into provided info

Those are the handles. I was thinking on getting a used one from a local source (if they come through) however both of my handles are painted so I could live with a pair of chrome or black handles that match. I am pondering painting the handle or having it done.

This helps by giving me another way to think about doing the job. I hate the broken door thing.....

thanks to all for the welcoming replies I am glad I joined this forum it seems like a great group of people
