New to this site....so allow me to introduce myself, I am a professional aircraft mechanic that is in the middle of rebuilding a 1968 Coronet, RT 440. All that means is I am mechanically inclined, I will need assistance from experienced auto mechanics. Right now I am installing a Wilwood master cylinder with a southwest speed booster. All and all nice stuff. A couple questions: is it ok to install the vacuum port at the 5 O'clock position rather than the 11? I would like to keep the hose routing as clean as possible. Second, can this system be operated with disk on the front and drum on the back for now....I plan on upgrading to all disk....but money does talk, even when you don't have it. With the kit came a bracket set for the peddles. I quickly learned that with a 883 four speed the bracket kit is worthless, the OEM is much larger. I ended up shorting the push rod by about a half an inch to accommodate the OEM set up. Additionally, I have a lot of slop in the steering and I cannot find a steering box overhaul kit that is more than just o-rings. I would like to replace the worm gear and the piston. But I will also need tools for this, any advice on this issue would be most welcome.
thanks, I look forward to learning more from you all. I will be posting about the engine and dash once I get to them. Right not I have a nice empty hole to work in and want to make sure its all correct before installing the engine.
