Heath Ledger paid dearly for that role.....He literally could not separate himself from that character.....

I enjoyed him as an actor and a shame for such a loss....

The heroin didn't help, either...

Remakes of movies are terrible. Gone in 60 seconds , and so on. Any movie showing computer effects just sucks. Pay alot of money to watch fake crap .

However that being said. Heath Ledger did a awesome job in his role. It was I bet a demented role to play and it looked well done.

The movie got an 8 minute applause in his premier in Venice, Joaquin lost 20 kg for the character, and the critics say his performance in this movie is a master piece worthy of the oscar, in time, and lets wait and see the movie so we can have an accurate opinion, not only based on the views of others, IMHO.

Ps Heath Ledger best joker ever.

On the tube now. :)

Looks like a film that is reflecting our times; making a hero out of the bad guy.

Most critics say it's a masterpiece while others say it glamourizes the mental illness that leads crazys to do things like mass shootings. Maybe glamorizing is too big of a term. Maybe sympathizes.
.

https://www.radiotimes.com/news/film/2019-09-02/joaquin-phoenix-joker/ The previews look pretty creepy.

Sensationalized I believe would be the term we're looking for...
Since cinema inception people have always had a thing for outlaw/rebel types, revolting against governments your law enforcement or just to be a general pain in the ***..blah blah blah
I think, deep down, most people have that darkside and the fantasy of being a outlaw.... its cool until you get caught (yup, there are consequences for being one, you never know how much freedom means to you until you lose it).

It’s a MOVIE! Get over it! It’s there to entertain, no more, no less. Don’t like the movie trailer, don’t go see it. Very simple, just like switching radio stations.

We already make more out of Hollywierd and the movies than is healthy for a society. Let's not make it worse...

Agree. The whole Hollywood establishment carries WAY too much influence on our society as a whole as it is,
from politics to social to whatever.
They're entertainers. Nothing more. They are not to be considered experts on ANYTHING other than entertaining
us - and I don't give a rats' *** what any of them think on any subject other than entertaining me.

No, I have no interest in this particular movie, either...

I think it worth mentioning that the Aurora
jh.jpg
theater shooter, James Holmes was inspired by the Joker in the Batman movies.
