Apparently with no one interested in saving that kind of history, this is the second 747 ever built and it's falling apart. (The first is long gone, destroyed in the Tenerife accident). Now parked in Seoul, the ex Pan-Am jet was a restaurant / club for awhile but it has closed down.

sad to see. But to many that is just an old plane/car/ship/you name it. Maybe Korea doesn't have the interest,$$,place to put it? And if you don't put it under cover, it's a never ending money pit. And a 747 takes up a lot of real estate. Boeing might have an interest...but it's in the wrong place, so there is the transport cost. I don't know if they have a museum, but there again, where to put it.

Just like when you see a local movie, such as Top Gun, the enemy planes might not actually be real. For instance in that movie, F-5s were painted black and called 'Mig 28s'.
The same thing happens elsewhere. This Russian Mi-24 Hind is painted in U.S. Coast Guard colors in the Russian film 'Charged With Death'.

A Russian C-141, pretty much. I remember a mission we were parked in Africa at the airport at Entebbe right next to one of these. The crew showed up and we struck up a conversation. They invited us to check it out...HOLY **** it was a pig stye! They were flying relief missions hauling big sacks of corn, some of which has obviously broken open and those fucks couldn't even be bothered to clean it up! They had TWO sets of mounted tires/wheels with them just in case. The first thing they did when they opened up and got power was retreat to the Navigators position below the flight deck and all had a shot of Vodka!!!!!
