How Did You Go About Putting The Rear Window Fuzzies In?

Noticed My Roadrunner Had Staples Holding Them In..

Thanks

I used very small flat head screws versus dealing with the staples

I mark approximately where the OE's were, remove the staples, clamp the new felt in place and then drill new 3/32" holes for the new staples. Clamp staple/felt tight with vice grips and I then bend the staples out vs the way the OE's went in on the back side. I've seen them drilled and riveted and screwed as Justin does as well.

I did just like Justin stated, screwed them down with. #8 sheetmetal screw.
Only advice is to make sure that the chrome trim is where you want it before tightening, the felts tended to walk up on me. I drilled my pilot holes through the both the felts and panel at the same time. Positioned the hole right where the felt stops and the rubber starts.

Why don't you get some thin wire, push/drill it thru the holes the original staples were in and bend it over...

Thin wire would not hold it and would be a huge mistake....

Lol Oh really? That's what I did 15 years ago and mine are holding. What do you think the staple is made of, steel wire.

Yes..really...The staples are NOT thin wire as you stated.....The staples are three to four times the thickness of "thin" wire.....They are not easy to even bend to form.........

Your comment quoted above shows that you dont know the difference between the original staple and a thin wire......

Excuse me I don't know the definition of thin wire. The Staples are .045 wire, I just took a micrometer to one. To me that's not thick and I had no issues bending them. Push the wire thru the hole and push it over with pliers, done. Go to any Hobby Lobby or model store and buy the wire.

Get some stainless staples that are the right size and use them. I did that, worked flawlessly!

Man what's with the Tude?......Geez...

Again.....The staples work that come with the fuzzies(not the same as thin wire)......An easier and cheaper route just as effective as the "correct" staples, less time consuming are rivets or very small flat head screws....

.045, lol.....I would love to see some picks of that install........
