Hey Guys, anyone know where I can buy a direct fit 22" aluminum radiator for a 1969 RR? I can find them but not in the right size. My rad is 22" x 18" core. All I can find is 22" x 16", would it matter if I used a 16" vs a 18"?

Try Cold Case. They are a sponsor. I can tell you from experience ECP speedcooling will require some fabrication to fit and more fabrication to attach a shroud.

The ECP/Speedcooling radiators only use 1" tubes, as opposed to others that use 1.25".

The champion in my Roadrunner works great. Fit without any modifications. I think they make them in 22 inch because they offered two sizes for it. Mine is a 26

I have an OER one, really nice as it even has the oe style contours on the top of the tank. Very nice fit and finish. Check it out, i got it from classic industries. I went ahead and actually put in a 26" rad on mine (stock was 22")

Sorry to jack the thread, Is this for a big block car? I just had my fan go through my radiator while driving and CI sent me a champion but my mechanic is saying it doesn’t fit, sticks up 1” too high and the hood wont close now. Could you send me the serial number to the one you bought? I have a 69 coronet with a 383 4brl

Yes it’s a big block car but mine is a 73. Maybe that’s the difference. I’ll look through my papers and see if I can find the part number.

I think those might be a different radiator I was surprised they’re saying it won’t fit, I had a ECP/speedcooling one before the champion and had to open up the bolt holes a little bit other than that it fit fine and worked perfect. This champion should be for this car but doesn’t fit, anyone else experience this?

View attachment 839945I bought this off ebay. it is not OE but is a very nice OEish alm replacement rad for the money, and fit perfect! couldn't happier with it.

Autocity Classic Radiator Model SL437AT. I have a friend with one in his 70 Challenger. Can't get above 170 degrees in the heat. I just ordered one for my '64 Plymouth. $237 each.

Thanks for the response, I ended up finding one from a local MOPAR guy for $180 seems to be working great so far, but my temp gauge isn’t work even after replacing the sending unit one problem at a time right?

Sorry, I've been sleeping. LOL 3 row. and No over heating. but to be clear mine is a stock 318.

My ECP fit with no modifications. The shroud did too. Must be lucky, huh?

I must have got a different radiator. You are the second forum member to say fit without mods.
I had to grind in three places, file the mounting holes, and barely had enough meat to mount the shroud.

I had Superior Radiator here locally make me a custom radiator for my 70' Challenger. Bolted right in, came with 2 high flow Derale electric fans. He also added -20 AN weld on bungs to run my -20 hoses top and bottom. Good for up to 1000 h.p.

The 22" champion radiator in my 66 charger had to have the bottom notches opened up a bit so the top bolts would line up
This in effect lowered the radiator some (1/2 inch)
It was a simple fix it make it fit and certainly much easier than the effort to send it back would have been
