What did you do to your Mopar today?

Was able to go to my brothers for a while Sunday afternoon. Got the turn signal switch replaced.

I forgot to take a pic of the new one in. I also have to find the new horn internals for it. Going to pick up a rebuilt steering box Monday morning.

Gave my 'Cuda a "water bath".... hasn't been washed with a hose and bucket in about 4 years!
Then drove it all over town letting everyone see how purtty she is!

Okay it was Sunday but it had been a while since it had been out. I got it out hosed it off first time in over a year that it was wet. took it to a BBQ at my neighbors where it was the only MOPAR among about 30 hot rods and muscle cars. I did a couple burnouts drove a few miles and put it away.

Assembled my Dana 60 with new spool, 4:10 pro gear, 40 spline gun drilled axles. Beadlocks are also now mounted. Also made up some mounting plates for all the new electrical and electronics, data logger etc.

I agreed to swap a front axle in my son's Jeep Patriot only to find the axle splines rust seized into the hub. It just laughed at the sledge hammer. I put it back together, saturated with penetrant, and took another shot at it after a week. I was finally able to press the end of the axle out of the hub using a brake drum puller. After getting the axle out, I pulled the new one out of the box and it was, of course, wrong. So, I took it back to Advance Auto Parts. No matter what variation of 2014 Patriot 4WD they pulled up on their system, the axle that came up was the on I had just returned. So, off to NAPA where the counterman told me that they didn't even have a listing for a RF axle for a 2014 4WD Patriot. Since it was on the way home, I stopped at Autozone where the girl pulled it up on the computer and it showed the same axle I had just returned to Advance. Looking down the listings, I saw one that looked like the one I had pulled out. So, it should be in today.

I checked out Steve White parts online. None of the axles they show for a '14 Patriot 4WD are correct. So, I cleaned the grease off the old axle and found a part sticker showing P52123873AA. 52123873AA shows up as superceded by 52123873AC. When I search on that number at Steve White parts, it shows up as for a '16 and '17 Patriot Sport. So, I guess if the dealer listings don't show the correct axle, it's not surprising that Advance can't find the correct axle.

had one plug boot that was against one tube of my new headers. Got a titanium sleeve from Summit for that, and heading out for a test drive.

What a great find. Are there more?
No, an eBay find. Reconditioned, like new are about 150 to 170, over 250 with ignition switch, three piece set. These were a barn find, so to speak, 113 shipped to the house. Nothing is cheap on these older Mopars.

Similar to what I'd like to do to my 65 someday.
I like them!! There's a 65 on this site that has something like them on his. His car is absolutely beautiful. I think he just used the halo rings that he attacked to his existing headlights.

Yesterday was my 'Cuda's 52nd birthday.....I had to work all day but this morning I took her out on a play date!!!!

Instead of another same old pic, here's different kind of view only lovers of old Mopars will enjoy!

Got a chance to run to my brothers yesterday to work on the Coronet. :) Wow look at the crap that was in this passageway. Just amazes me. I taped all the other opening around it and cleaned out the passageway.

When the starter was pulled off to help with room to get the headers swapped out, the starter got dropped and the small isolator on the electrical connection broke. He had another starter in the stockpile with the nose cone assembly messed up so I swapped things around. My first time tearing into a starter. Ran out of time so I'm hoping to run over for a while today to test the starter and get it back in. Unfortunately my brother lined up a bunch of work and hasn't been able to get my motor back together. If he can get the head back together for me I can work my way through the intake, carb and even figure out the way the sparkplug wires go. :moparsmiley:
