I need to replace my dash pad. I see two different prices on ebay for pads. Anyone have ant experience with dash pad purchases?

I do not want a cover. Want it to look original.

Thanks

Yeah, I just bought one on eBay for my ‘70 Coronet. I don’t have the sellers name on the tip of my tongue but I can get it if you need it.
I got the expensive metal core one, paid a few hundred for it. I recommend it highly. Mine can’t be told apart from a new original. Nitpickers may disagree but I stand by my statement.

Really.. who did you get it from Sahara. I sent PG classics back to them and Legendary's. PG's had the grain correct'ish and ZERO correct shape detail. Legendary had the shape correct and ZERO grain.

I would not suggest purchasing one that does not use the original factory metal cores. The fiberglass core pads that I have seen are too short from side to side. There will be a noticeable gap between the end of the dash pad and the A-pillar trim.

We have had good luck with the pads from ABC Moparts. They feature the correct shape and size. For 98% of the people, they will be ok with the grain pattern. But if your building a high end car and the details are important, then his pads are a bit off from the original pads in the grain detail. Most people will not be able to detect the differences, but there is a a difference. So if that is a concern, search out a nice used pad.
