Idea for lifting a car

I'm not sure I'd trust that system. It is a freaking sweet idea though.

Lift Stands are made of 12ga. steel and have a black durable powder coat finish. A lift stand dimensions are 12"wd. x 18"lg. x 8"high. The extended height is 14 inches. The inside section of the top tire pan is 11"x11"x 1.5" deep. The locking pins are spring loaded, and made with .375 inch stainless steel. One stand weighs 35 lbs. with a maximum load rating of 2000 lbs. Four stands will support an 8,000 lbs. vehicle. Any floor jack that is less than 12 inches wide can be used. Warranty is 1 year on product to be free from physical defects in material and workmanship.

Interesting concept and execution, but I didn't find any certifications; like from ANSI.
 
I bought a set of these, and they just arrived yesterday. I ordered them back in July, so it took a good 6 weeks to get them, but a week was lost in shipping due to the hurricane. I have not used them yet, but initial inspection shows a very well built and solid unit. First test of them will be this weekend when I change the oil in the wife's caddy. I hate being under cars even with jack stands, and these seem much more substantial. As an additional precaution, I am going to get a 4X4 fence post and cut it to length to fit in the lift jack when it is fully extended just as an additional backup.
 
Interesting - always wanting to get my car friggin high enough to work on it as a lift isn't a great option at this stage.
 
I built cribbing for mine until we got a lift...I never worried about mine failing...looks like those have a jacktooth which scares the heck out of me!!!
 
Can always come up with ideas like this guy...

So, I tried them out over the weekend. First I used them on the base height just under the front of the Caddy to do an oil change. Plenty of height for that project.

Then I put them under the road runner. First on the base setting. There was a lot of room under the car at this height.

Then up to full height. The car was rock steady at this height. I pushed on each side and front and back to see if it would rock at all, and not even a little rocking. I do still plan to set some 4X4 fence posts in the jacks at this height just for some extra security

I think these are really cool but think I would most likely still use jack stands under as well .
 
Looks like you’d have to have multiple, quick, catastrophic failures to get injured with those.
Demo videos looked like it was a bit of a process to get all 4 corners up to maximum height.... was that pretty time consuming, or not bad?
