I have recently purchased a 1970 Charger RT/SE.
I have tried to locate the engine number, to see if its a matching number.
I was planning to build a pro touring out of it, but if its a matching number maybe I should restore it back to original ?
But I can't seems to find the engine number. Should it not be here, look at the pics.
Thanks

On the block that's the casting number not the serial number. There should be a spot ground flat with the serial number punched in it.

Passenger side near oil pan rail. Should have year, assembly plant letter, then the last 6 digits of the VIN that matches the car it came from.

On the right side of the block, just above the oil pan, you should see 0G165203. If that area is blank, then you have a warranty block or a service block.

Shouldn't be. Should be able to see it with a light on a lift maybe.

The car build date on the fender tag and the cast date on the engine block make it a good prospect for matching numbers, or should I say matching engine. Look closer for the VIN# on the passenger's side pan rail.

Very nice. You will receive lots of great help here on FBBO, but please contact Don at the 1970 Charger Registry too:

Thanks, I´ll do that tomorrow

If you have a numbers car, I would restore back to stock. IMO

Check the transmission VIN# also. It's up on the passenger's side of what would be the bell housing on a 4-speed.

I took a pic of where i think it supposed to be, but its blank.
So its probably a replacement block ?
