Lacking any dealer information whatsoever for my '68 GTX, I was playing on the Triple A website about getting a window sticker reproduced and was doing fine until I got to the "dealer name/address" part...
probably already know the answer to this one, but is there a way to determine the origin dealer of our cars?

The original window sticker or original paperwork.....unfortunately, if you have none of that than it is near impossible....

Ma Mopar poor records and the dealers that went out in the 70’s, records were lost....

I sent off to Chrysler for the build card on my 65 and it showed where it was shipped to.

Certicard maybe

I was lucky on my SBird and have a copy of the original Texas title which narrowed it down between two dealers, so I picked the one closet to the title holders address.

Nope, got none of those...reckon the great fire took care of the rest?

That works through 1967. Mine is a 1968...

No gots, thanks.

I don't have that much either - but just for the heck of it, say I just randomly wanted to pick a dealer existing
back in the day that's in the area the car was dragged out of. How does one find information on what dealers
were around back then?

I learn more every day and I'm not afraid to admit it!! You guys are a book of knowledge and I sincerely appreciate it!!! Thank you!!

I Have the OE paper work for 1 of my Coronet R/T's. it is quite rare these days!

Google Chrysler region and dealer codes.
A few websites have pdf files with lists.
I did it a few years back, not on my pc so can't check.
Also, check the early Charger registry/website.

My Google-fu is strong, grasshopper. :)
However, this is a subject that apparently has never been totally summarized anywhere I can find online; it's such a vast undertaking that this site has a little bit, that site has a chunk, etc. - and none I've found has dates of operation, which must further complicate the hell out of the situation, too.
I'd imagine only Chrysler itself could compile a true, complete list - if they have even bothered to keep such data after all these years.

A lot of fun to dig through online, though. One of those "net trains" you get on at one stop and ride it all over the dang place for hours on end. I love those these days.

My understanding is that many of the records for 1968-70 were somehow lost or destroyed, which means you are pushing brown squishy stuff uphill looking for a definitive answer here.

Without actual original paperwork or documentation to your car, anything else is just pure guesswork.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. :)

This I know, my friend - you're referring to the infamous fire that consumed all those records, sadly.
Still need to do research on that incident, too - I sort of find that kind of thing interesting, given what
I do for a living.
Best I can do, short of what I'm doing now (guesstimating a dealer from where the car was dragged out of
a field over a decade ago) is perhaps to pay for a title search? Wonder if those go back far enough?

There was a site but I can no longer find it. It was made so you could not copy and paste the info. i did but only have the California closed dealers. California had many.
