Classic Industries promotions are a freaking joke

I think YO are the ultimate jack offs. They do the thing where they say 30% off and nothing of many items looked at are a the discount. Then the shipping - don’t get me started.... I try everywhere else before I go to them sale or not. Site is bullshit. Summit is my go to. At least they have integrity

Yeah, it depends who you talk to. If you happen to get a female. Seems they are more likely to try to make someone happy. Guys are often dickheads, ha ha
I'm usually pretty easy going on the phone. Heck, it usually doesn't do any good to be a ******** lol. Wes at Mancini could be pretty 'short' on the phone but usually he was the only one answering the phone. I hate being on the phone all the time too so I try my best to be understanding but will 'nicely' tell someone like the ones at YO that doesn't want to hand out a catalog for potentially more sales will get a small piece of my mind.....but very nicely :D

You have to do this when you deal with their ridiculous shipping rates:carrot:.....

exactly. I have gotten several satisfactory items from Classic. This Spring when I wanted a gas tank, I checked them first. Their price was inline with everyone else, and Rockauto was cheaper. But Classic's shipping killed the deal. I checked Advance Auto, and with their discount the shipping was better than Classic, and a tad more overall than Rockauto, but I went with Advanced. Gotta compare.

And after all that, then CI has these items that are on indefinite backorder. You don’t get this info until after you place the order.

Tried to deal with year one and classic industries . Don't care for either one. Year one wanted to charge extra for a package protection. They both suck

I agree. Summit and Jeggs are the go to sources. I bought a full set of 15” Magnums with new Cooper tires through Summit. They included shipping, mounting and balancing of the tires, extremely nice chrome valve stems and caps. All for the price of the rims and tires for a little over $1200. For that price I also got a set of the matching center caps. Nobody can touch that deal. All I had to do is throw them on when they arrived at my door 2 days later. Plus, they saved me the grief of someone else tearing them up after being charged to mount and balance them. They showed up without a nick. This is the kind of service that attracts customers. Best deal I ever received.

I just bought a trunk pan and cross brace from jegs, with free shipping. :thankyou:

So if Year one and CI are busts, can I ask for suggestions as to where everyone gets their parts from? I will be buying stuff for my 70GTX, 67 Barracuda and 70 Duster. Thanks.

Classic Industries is probably the best for new hard to find parts. But, they are expensive. I didn’t intend to try to steer anyone away from them. It’s just the bs gimmicks and overpriced shipping that needs to be avoided, if possible. Especially when you pay a lot for aftermarket parts to begin with. They are, the way they are because they can obtain hard to get parts, new from China. Most, is quality made parts. Some parts, you can’t get anywhere else. Like mentioned by others. I try to avoid them, if the parts are available somewhere else.

those discounts are such a fkn lie..if you need visor screws, yes, 30 % applies..everything else, nope...no further discount applies...

I have ordered 100% of what I can for my build through Jegs. I would love to support Classic or Year One, however, just like everyone else, it just doesn't make any sense. Between them never putting the full discount towards the product, and the larger than needed shipping, they have lost thousands of dollars from me. Until they correct one of the two problems, I refuse to purchase items through them.

I feel exactly the same. Trust me, if one other company sold the headrest I’m looking for. I would go there. Classic Industries charges $44 for shipping the headrest I want. They may get that. But, 99% percent of other money spent by me on my cars will go somewhere else. Point is, they think they are winning by over charging, gimmicks, etc. But, you lose in the long run.
Over all, reasonable prices attract more business. More business, always equals more money. Not very intelligent of them.

Won't use CI either. Went thru 2 turn signal switches in one summer from them. Bought one from [email protected] and it's been in there for 3 years and works perfect. You could even tell it was much better quality by the feel. The CI headlight sw hasn't worked right since putting it in. Just don't want to tear the dash out again.

Classic Industries promotions are damn joke. I’ve been wanting and waiting to buy new headrest. Right now, they have a promotion that if you spend over $229 you get 30% off. The headrest I want are $360. I add the promo code get a woping $18 and the total comes to $389 with shipping etc ? That’s not 30%. The promotions are absolutely worthless. All Classic Industries does is attract your business by supposedly give you a promotional discount, which doesn’t equal the amount they falsely advertise. Turn around and charge you 3 times more for an item to ship, than what it actually cost. Do they really think people are that stupid ? Rant over
Most of their discounts usually equates to recieving free shipping. Seems evertime I buy from them, the part Im needing is 'discount exempt'

I just ordered an (aged) windshield washer reservoir for my '69 Road Runner from CI yesterday. After reading this thread, I searched everywhere else I could think of, but CI ended up being the best price, even after the $15 shipping (except for used ones on Ebay, and even some of those where more expensive). I had little choice.

I don’t know how you figure free shipping ? Regardless, I don’t think most people expect free shipping or discounts. I think most people have a problem with deception, gimmicks and gouging.

welcome to the expensive world of Mopar Parts, some parts can be found Nowhere.

I've done OK with CI and to a lesser extent YO. I shop the discounts and about three or four times a year they have 10 to 20% off with free shipping. Most items are actually 5-10% off but with free shipping it's not too bad. I still compare multiple vendors, but I agree these two are not a good value most times.
