Today I found a very nice '65 Coronet 500 convertible on the side of the road in a yard. It is very straight ( two tiny dings) never wrecked, very little rust, oily frame and under carriage so not rusted, all the trim is present and undamaged except the trunk 500 medallion, lights and lenses good, original interior in very good shape no tears, complete and unaltered dash, original steering wheel in excellent condition, floor shift auto w/ console w. clock. Convertible top is all there as is the framing, doors open and close perfectly with no signs of the body sagging in the middle. One rusted through hole in drivers fllor to the left front corner below the dimmer switch. One rusted through area about 3"x6" on the left side of the cowl under the hood from a mouse nest, one small hole by the outside of the drivers wing window and the spare tire well floor is starting to rust. 361 V8 w. 383 intake w. 4 barrel and dual exhaust. 727 tranny. the grill is all there and undamaged other than weathering. This is an original driver. He, ( Mike Hutchinson) wants 10,000 bucks for this nice convertible. It's a solid car and a great starter with it being complete and in great shape. This is down from 12,500. I turned him on to FBBO and he says he will be joining up and posting up his car for sale. In the mean time here's some teaser pics. Enjoy.

decodes as a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500, ruby red, black vinyl, buckets, console, rear bench, lft remote door mirror, variable wiper/washer, black convo top, 361 V8, auto, heat/defrost, power top, A/M radio, back up lights, built 3 Dec 65.

Looks like a great buy... No much to get that back in order from where its at..

Looks like that may be an early Hemi booster on there. It might have been added, you didn't mention PB on the tag. Does anyone know if PB would be listed on the tag?

Also the drivers side manifold is HP, they didn't start those until 67 I believe. I couldn't tell the pass side.

It no doubt has some minor issues that are visible, and, who knows how much filler, if any is hiding under there. But, it's a great place to start from if your looking for a vert that's in decent shape otherwise. I mean, the trim is dead straight and no dents or even scratch's...normal wear....

could make someone a nice project

Sixth pic down from the top you can just see the HP manifold on the passenger side peeking out

These are two different cars that aren't even the same year.

This one is either a 67 or 68....
