I was going to let them be as-is, but I'd like to get the hood latch and safety catch for my 68 Charger replated with proper color, finish etc.. Need someone that can turn them in 3-4 weeks if possible. I' in Austin,. TX if that matters.
Thanks,
Tim

Weren't they just dipped in semi gloss - not plated ??

I used the old style clear lacquer that yellowed some. Bought an NOS hood spring it was black, black oxide??

On my 70 they were black phosphate or whatever you call it. I used the caswell stuff, but wasn't really satisfied with the outcome. It does work great on nuts and bolts.

It just there to impale your forehead. Just paint it.

If keeping things original to the car is important, be aware that those parts are date coded and if you should swap out parts, then it is highly unlikely finding a very similar date coded piece.

In regards to restoring the piece, as mentioned above SF Restorations or Bill Meerholtz can take care of the items, just not sure of the time frame issue and it is not cheap.

Just got mine back from Stephan today. Great service , very timely and no B.S.
