My name is Lee, I'm a long time Mopar guy, but up until now have always been an A body guy. I now am the proud owner of a 1967 Belvedere II 383 4 speed. Took me 2 1/2 years to find it. I sold the '68 Valiant (formerly Tim Werner's car) that I owned for a couple years back in November 2016 and had my sights set on finding a '68 or '69 Barracuda 340 4 speed car. The '68 to '69 340 Barracuda market is insane (I didn't want a project) and finding a decent driver 340 4 speed car proved to be difficult, so I opened up my options to '66 or '67 Plymouth B bodies, which I have long admired. I found this car on a Facebook Belvedere/GTX group. The guy had purchased it recently and posted a pic. I asked if it was for sale. He said yes and gave me a price. We talked and exchange texts and I decided to try to find someone local to the car (it was in PA) to check it out for me. I got a couple of people who offered to look at it for me. Scheduling that was difficult and then the seller changed his mind. The seller told me he wanted to keep it to enjoy through the summer, but would keep my contact info and he would give me first dibs if/when he decided to sell it. This was at the end of April. A month later, he texts me telling me it's going on the market if I'm still interested. I told him yes and arranged to have a professional appraiser/car inspector look at it. Once I got his report, I pulled the trigger. It took over two months to get a transport company that I trusted to haul it for me. Let's just say that Intercity Lines is probably great if you're Jay Leno or Wayne Carini. If you're a small-time guy, well, don't hold your breath waiting for Intercity. I found a father/son team that did a great job for me.

Anyway, on to the car! It's a 383, 4 speed, 3.23 sure-grip, manual steering, manual drum brakes. The car was marketed to me as a survivor and in many ways, I think it is, although I am no expert. It is very well documented and seems very original, but has had some things done to it, such as newer gas tank, electronic ignition and I think the front carpet may have been replaced. It has a Hurst shifter installed, but came with the original Inland shifter in the Hurst box in the trunk. Also has a Line-lock. I also think some, if not all of the car has been repainted. The front clip is a slightly different shade of blue when you look at it up close. I have the original window sticker, Certicard, Owner's Manual, the original handwritten car order and Certificate of Title. It was purchased at Men-Guer Chrysler-Plymouth in Struthers, OH in May 1967. Other documents include timeslips from York Dragway and Sunset Drag Strip. There is also a Class Winner badge from Sunset Drag Strip that came with it. It has a neat little metal key container with the Plymouth logo, too.

It was apparently in storage owned by the same family for a long time. It was sold in early 2017, then auctioned at Spring Carlisle 2017. Odometer reads only 33k miles and based on the condition of the car, I would say it is original miles. I believe the original owner bought it to drag race it and didn't drive it much other than that. There was a set of used Mopar 4.10 gears in the trunk as well. It also has an adjustable pinion snubber.

I'm looking for the build sheet. It's not under the back seat. I'll have to keep looking.

Here are some pics.

Nice 67!... I see we have another escapee from Moparts... Welcome!!

Nice Belvedere

welcome to FBBO
quite a bit east of you (thank god, I lived in the east bay for 27 years)
from NorCal Sierras

I would have had a hard time letting go of Tim’s hot rod... But it seems to have changed hands a few times.. I guess maybe when you take it to the track everyone knows it’s Tim’s old car... Seemed like a fun little rocket...

Can't wait to get out of the bay area myself. Got a few more years to go, though.

Well, Tim's Valiant is really fast, really fun, but it's too loud, too hot and hard to drive around on the street. The fantasy is better than the reality, for sure. Plus, there is so much custom stuff done to that car that if you need spare parts, you better be able to fab them yourself or know someone who can. It has changed hands twice after I sold it. It was actually offered back to me after 6 months by the guy who bought it from me. While I do miss it sometimes, I made the right choice selling it.

Now I have a car my wife will actually ride in.

Welcome from NW CT. Man that is a GREAT car. I have always wanted one like it...

Great car and colors.

For the Broadcast sheet Look under the carpet on the tunnel by the front back carpet split, or in the rear floor area.

Can you post the fender tag.

Build sheets I have found can be in multiple places. Under the back seat you have explored. Behind the back seat, passengers side rear floor pan under the carpet, over the glove box, under the driver's side seat bottom, tucked in the sail panel behind the headliner to name the places I have found them. Keep looking, if it hasn't been disassembled you will probably find one.

Understood, very much not a car for street cruising, intended for the track and best left for track events.. Gotta have a different car for playing around on the street..

And honestly I have to much fun on the street to commit to a serious track car.. Getting momma involved is a huge plus...

Welcome.
Tough to beat a 383 4 speed.
Good luck with it.

Welcome from Michigan. Very nice and clean car you have there.....
