Spiders in my shop

No clue.... it took a brake cleaner bath...

I don't have one spider in my house or garage. Obviously keeping them out of garage is harder with the door up alot, but once a month I spray around the whole house and garage inside and out with home depots home defense. I can't believe how well it works and I have been doing it for years.

Saw a episode of Garage Squad where Bruno got bit while filming. He didn't return and ended up spending almost a week in the hospital.

Last fall I tried useing spearmint extract, mixed with water and a couple of drops of dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray all around the garage and even around doors and windows in the house. Didn't see one spider all winter. Normally I'd have cob webs under the car and in the corners. This year nothing.

It only smells for a couple of days but it must keep on working. A couple of weeks ago I started seeing a couple of small spiders. Got out the spray and their gone.

What do you guys do to keep spiders out? I've sprayed Sevin around the shop repeatedly since i had it built and they're coming in droves.

Spray Toulene

The little rascals think it's fall here with the drop in temperature. The real little ones that catch the breeze and cast their webs all around outside plus they are starting in the garage already.

Time to make up a batch of spearmint spray. Really worked good last year!

We are getting a bumper (no pun intended) at the shop right now. One of them has made a home inside the right mirror housing on the shop truck.

TalstarPro, find it on Amazon. Mix it with water in a garden sprayer and spray the baseboards in your garage, the walls, under tables and benches and any place that they might be hiding. It kills not just spiders but all insects. I use it on the outside of my house this time of year and it keeps the stink bugs out.

The Ortho Home and Garden was my choice years back for inside and outside protection. Safe for pets also. We had an earwig infestation and it ended it quickly. I wonder if it had what TalstarPro has in it?

Don't know what Ortho has in it but TalstarPro is supposed to be professional grade. I know 1/4 Oz is mixed with a gallon of water and it goes along way.

Well, drier sheets didn't work for me. Now my Wife's mad because all her drier sheets are gone.

I took the holistic approach. First sign of spiders in my home shop? Go out front at night and scoop up a dozen Mediteranian Geckos by the front porch light. Yeah, I have to vacuum up some lizard **** every few months, but I have no bugs on my Hemi!

The stuff that used to be very effective on just about everything was Chloridane....a grayish white powder that could be soluabilized in water.....unfortunately (or fortunately depending on one's viewpoint) it was a derivative of DDT and Agent Orange......remember the horrors of Hooker Chemicial and Love Canal, of years past.
Try a mix of Liquid Sevin (carbamate), Malithon 50 and Orthene (Acephate) diluted in water and sprayed with a pump sprayer.....use a face mask and good ventilation....the combination is very effective but smells horrible. Works for me.....use at your own discretion.
