What Happened to the Convenience of the Hidden License Plate Filler Cap?

I use my fuel cap to hold the plate open/down slightly
just jammed it in between the bottom by the hinges/bumper

you should have figured that out by now :poke:

If i could do it, this is where I would post that scene from "Top Secret" where the pinto explodes.
 
And then the manufacturers got to shorten the pump hoses; now you have to real close or it won’t reach!

I like being able to pull up to either side of the pump, which is for me anyway, convenient. And I filled up thousands of such vehicles from 1973-1975 pumping the gas at a full-serve Chevron Station in Chualar, California (the population of the town at that time was 300). I still don't see the difficulty of such a procedure. I must be missing something, I guess.

Customers back then really were bent out of shape when we began charging 25 cents for the Chevron road maps.

YellowBullet has a thread with women at the pump...some are nekkid, some are just really curvy.
