I didn't realize the yellows straps are wheel wraps, yes that looks safe as can be!

30 yrs! your well versed at this , I've never owned a car that deserved any trailer other than no plates,or parts falling off!

Confirmation for the umpteenth time that you picked the right gal 40 years ago. Not only willing to do such crazy things with me still, it was her idea instead of waking up in a hotel in the morning and looking outside to see that truck/trailer and all had been "tilt and loaded" in the night !

That was getting ready to haul to World of Wheels 1990 in Oshawa Don. Dearly departed Jennifer beside the Bird and son Daryl with the Bee.

Put the Bird in the trailer for a test run with fuel gauge showing 1/2 tank a couple of days ago and it's worked flawless for months. Took the car out and as I hit the ground the gauge went to zero. Guess I must have missed a pin hole fixing the crack floated and it sunk again or something fell apart. I have no time for this right now, but I can't be running around Bama with no fuel gauge so I guess I'l be burning the midnight oil. Need to leave by Thursday latest..

Running in circles Roger between getting the trailer ready, hitch sway attachment installed... but I rotated the cars, Bird's on the hoist. Gauge is good and swings to full grounded out. Sender's at 70 ohms saying tank is empty... so suspect she sunk again. Better see if the old float on the old Bee tanks sender is good... hard part is getting it out since we soldered the bastard in about 40 years ago! Doubt I can find a float in town anywhere tomorrow..

Got the sway bar attachment installed to the hitch and the "Murphy Bed" in place. Then spent 2 hours 15 minutes hammering the fuel sender out of the OE Bee tank that we soldered and sealed in there, many times, over the past 40 years. Thankfully finding a good float. Drained the Bird tank, re and re'd the sender swapping in the old Bee float. Refilled the tank with fuel and I have a working gauge again. Thank God as Leah and I plan on driving the **** out of this thing in Georgia and Alabama, so definitely need a working fuel gauge ! Time to pack!

Yep.. it was sunk again and had some fuel in it. Guess I missed some of the crack when I fixed it previously. Can't believe it floated for this long though and decided to sink this week... but glad it didn't sink next week! LOL Just glad the old OE Bee float was good!

The packing continues.. some AV gas and Shell premium ready to top the tank after Atlanta and almost forgot the porta-poti out of my boat.

I've owned this car for just shy of 30 years, so I must be excited to go to Dega as up until today I've never waxed this car! Looks pretty good for a cheap 1988 Enamel paint job !

Loaded and where we start, 56,301.9 MILES. We'll see where it is when we come home.

Mirror Mirror keep me off the wall... smartest way I've thought to load a car thus far !

Stop being so nosy and get out of our bedroom!

Just about ready to roll, just need to pack a few camping supplies and our clothes. If you seeing us hauling, flag us down!

I think I have every scenario covered. If not, there's the winch in the trailer to reload !

Amazing what a bit of wax can do.

Bearings, tires and lights checked.. it's all down to picking a departure day.

So guys at the event know my ugly mug so you can run the other way!

Well the Bible is printed, the Bee is safely stored elsewhere and other than packing our suit cases we're pretty much ready to go. I THINK I know where we're going and expected to be each day in Georgia and Alabama, after that we're just making it up! Probably like the old days where we'd spin a 2 liter bottle in the middle of the road and take it's advise.

Over a year since this started, have had our rooms booked for a full year now.

Trailer parking just down the street from where we're staying at the Days Inn.

Leah's told me under no circumstance am I allowed to reload the car after laps at Atlanta, I'm to "have fun" on the 2.5 hour cruise from the track to Alexander City and she'll follow in the hauler.

Wife and I are working on our route, as she can only go 3 to 4 hours at a time or the next day is a right off. We were originally going to cross the border at Buffalo, but now looks like we're leaving Friday and staying at her cousins in Arkona, Ontario for the night. Then Saturday crossing the Blue Water Bridge and heading for the Gilmore Museum North of Kalamazoo MI to sign Justin's car, probably sleeping in the parking lot so we can take it all in Saturday afternoon (if we make it before closing) and most likely more on Sunday AM. Off from there the 4+ hours to the Wright / Dayton Ohio AirForce Museum. Not sure if we'll tour it on Sunday or Monday, will depend on arrival time. If anyone is in these areas and wants to meet, come look for our truck/trailer and you know my ugly mug by now! I don't have a smart phone, but if we have wifi I should be able to update using the wife's laptop.
