Hello, an avid reader and lurker of this site, but not really a poster. This site has certainly answered many of my questions up to this point by searching past threads, but here is something that still left me questioning.

I was installing my A833 transmission over the weekend on ‘69 440 with a 11” B&B clutch and noticed that the clutch fork sits very low in the clutch fork opening on the bell housing.... is this normal? The fork is seated correctly in the pivot and on the release bearing. I will add that the driveline from the bell housing back came from a different car then the engine, but both B body big blocks, so my guess is it should all be compatible This will all eventually be installed in a 1969 Sport Satellite. Any help would be appreciated.

It does look at an "odd angle", but if you are SURE it's seated on the pivot AND has both sides of the fork clipped behind the springs on the throwout bearing, I think you'll be OK. It sure does "look" like one side of the fork isn't in the throwout bearing clips though. Can you see inside clearly?

Fit the Z bar and see if it lines up? Those things line up fairly straight.
Post a pic of the pivot it may not be quite right.

It might be the weight of the fork pulling it down. when you install the rod for the fork it might be straight when all hooked up.

Thanks for the replies.... I can see clearly that it is clipped under the springs on the release bearing, and it sits snug enough in the pivot that gravity can’t change its position. I was thinking perhaps the incorrect pivot for my set up, but it does seem to line up fairly well with the z bar? Does this look alright to you?

Well I appreciate the feedback and will keep moving on! Thank you for confirming
