I'm wondering if the backseat plastic/fiberglass side panels in convertibles on an original painted cars are the same color as the seat colors. I'm not including black interiors.
If your cars interior was another color, like tan or green etc. were the backseat side panels also tan or green to match the interior or were they painted the same color as the car's body. My car has been repainted by another owner and the backseat side panels are pearl white to match the interior. The doors are body color and the harsh difference from the door color (dark blue) next to the pearl white side panels have always looked odd to me. I'm thinking the convertible rear seat side panels should be painted the same color as the body paint, matching the door color. This is the best picture I have. Notice the top of the blue door and the white panel next to the top of the passenger's seat.

I have a gold interior, plastic panels are gold. Not a good picture.

Mine are body color (Blue), and the insert panel is the seat color (white).
Car is is storage, but I think the top part of the panel may even be a different shade of blue than the lower part, but maybe it is just faded paint?

From the factory, my 64 Polara Convertible had red seats, carpet, dash, and the rear seat side panels were also red. Exterior color was white....
