Hi,

Does anyone have a picture of the passenger side k frame splash guard on the car? I am trying to put mine back on but as dumb as it sounds, I can not figure out how to properly put it back on. Of course it was so easy to take off I didn't think to take a picture and now I can't remember. Its a 72 roadrunner but I would think any b bodys 71-74 would be similar? Thanks for any help. Here is a picture of the part in question but I could not find pictures anywhere online with them on the car itself.

At least on a '70, the side with the holes goes "up" so you can attach them to the frame. The "skinny point" of the triangle goes forward & the wider section goes towards the rear. Once installed, the flat side with no holes will be against the frame & "fan out" to the wider section towards the back. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks, I think that is what I needed. I believe these are the same from 66-72 (at least that is what the website says) but I could not find any where on the K-frame where the holes would line up with out it handing weirdly off the frame. My fear was that the body shop didn't put the holes back in when they did a small repair on the frame rail. I am pretty sure they did I was able to put the driver's side in but its the full frame on and only goes on one way.

And there is a L and R molded into them!

I saw those and matched it up to my original but maybe I have it backwards. I always thought R was passenger and L was driver side.

I actually just found a picture on Detroit muscle. I bought mine from Classic and they didn't have a picture. In case someone else has a brain fart like me, I attached it below.

The strut rod goes on the outside of the splash guard, so the rod is closer to the fender than the shield.

Thank you all for the help and support. I was trying to put it to far back behind the k frame. It helps when you know where it goes. I got it figured out now. Strangely enough I did not have holes on the drivers side and it would not fit anyways. I didnt take one off during disassembly so I thought it might have been lost. Here is the finished product.

Looks good but 71 they are bolted on and 70 they are riveted. The pic I posted is of my 71 RR built 10/70 and they are bolted.

My '69 Bee, one side bolted and one side riveted OE. Believe Justin's '69 GTX where both bolted.

Have 2 70 B's in the yard and they are riveted. All the 70 E bodies that I worked on were riveted. Soooooo maybe a plant thing????

Lynch Road.. Guess if they ran out of rivets or the gun jammed you went with screws.

Mine were bolted in originally but I didn't feel like tracking down new bolts since my old ones were really crusty. They came with the rivets and I was being lazy so I just riveted them in. Thankfully its an easy fix if I ever need to change them out.
